In Tashkent, utility payments may be restricted for water debtors starting in 2027

Starting from the beginning of 2027, the possibility of restricting electricity payments is being introduced in Tashkent for consumers who have outstanding debt for drinking and sewage water.

This measure applies to individuals who do not repay their debt even after it has been recovered through judicial or notarial procedures. This was announced on October 30th at a press conference in Tashkent by Islom Abdullaev, the first deputy chairman of JSC "Uzsuvtaʼminot".

According to Abdullaev, if a consumer does not repay the debt within the established period, the issue of its recovery will be submitted for consideration to a court or a notary. If the debtor still fails to fulfill their financial obligations, their ability to pay for electricity will be restricted.

Furthermore, at the same press conference, representatives of JSC "Uzsuvtaʼminot" presented a proposal to increase the tariff for drinking water in Tashkent to 3,100 soms per cubic meter. This issue is currently under consideration by the city Kengash of people's deputies.
