Extratropical cyclone causes unstable weather in several regions this Saturday
An extratropical cyclone will cause climatic instability in several locations this Saturday. Friday night (the 11th) will already show instability in parts of the South, Southeast, and Midwest regions. On Saturday (the 12th), the cyclone, according to Inmet's forecast, will reach its maximum intensity over the Atlantic Ocean, keeping the weather unstable in portions of these areas. Projections indicate rain and thunderstorms in Paraná, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, and Mato Grosso do Sul. While temperatures will be mild in the South, the interior of the Northeast will remain intensely hot with few clouds. The cyclonic system is expected to move rapidly towards the sea during Saturday. Despite this movement, the weather will remain unstable in certain areas of the South Region. Detailed forecasts by region In Paraná, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in the northwest, north, and northeast. There is also a possibility of rain in the west, center, and east of the state. The yellow alert for potential danger from storms remains valid in the north-central and eastern parts of Paraná. In the southeast of Rio Grande do Sul, there is a chance of rain, and in the other zones of the region, many clouds will prevail. Curitiba is expected to register a minimum of 11°C and a maximum of 20°C. In São Paulo, Saturday will bring scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms in the south-central and southwest. Other parts of the state may have scattered rain throughout the day. The predicted minimum for São Paulo is 16°C. In the south-central part of Minas Gerais and in Rio de Janeiro, the forecast also points to showers. Espírito Santo may record isolated rains, while the north and northwest of Minas Gerais will have partly cloudy skies. The yellow alert for potential danger from storms remains active in São Paulo, south-central Minas Gerais, and much of Rio de Janeiro. In Belo Horizonte, the maximum temperature may reach 34°C. Rain will also affect areas in the Midwest. In Mato Grosso, downpours are forecast in the northwest, west, and southwest. Mato Grosso do Sul will face instability mainly in the northwest and south-central, with potential for thunderstorms. Campo Grande is listed among the areas with forecasts of isolated rain and thunderstorms. There is also a possibility of rain in the northeast of Mato Grosso do Sul, in addition to the regions of Cuiabá and Alta Floresta. In the Federal District, north-central Goiás, and the east and northeast of Mato Grosso, Saturday will be characterized by sunny weather and few clouds. On the coast of the Northeast, many clouds will prevail with possible isolated showers, and inland, the day will be partly cloudy and intensely hot. In the North Region, instability points are mainly concentrated in Rondônia, Acre, and Amazonas. For Saturday, attention should be directed to the South and Southeast regions due to the forecast of showers and thunderstorms, keeping meteorological warnings active.

National Institute of Meteorology issues red alert for storms and tornado risk in the South Region
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) predicted intense storms on Thursday, the 10th, and Friday, the 11th, with a special focus on the South Region. Areas such as Paraná, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso do Sul, and parts of São Paulo were included in the alert zones. Meteorological conditions favorable for storm formation result from the combination of high humidity, a low atmospheric pressure zone, and strong winds. There is a possibility of hail, very strong wind gusts, and even the formation of tornadoes in isolated locations. Situation of greatest concern in the South Region The most critical situation was recorded in the South Region. On Thursday, Paraná, Santa Catarina, and the northwestern part of Rio Grande do Sul received a red warning indicating great danger due to storms. The forecast for these locations includes rain, thunderstorms, intense gusts, and potential hail. Additionally, strong downdrafts within the clouds may occur, capable of reaching the surface and causing microbursts. Among the municipalities affected by the red alert are Umuarama, Cascavel, Maringá, and Foz do Iguaçu, located in Paraná; Chapecó and Joaçaba, in Santa Catarina; and Frederico Westphalen and Nonoai, in Rio Grande do Sul. On Friday, instability persists throughout the South Region. An orange warning covers central-south, west, and east of Paraná, Santa Catarina, and the north of Rio Grande do Sul. In the other regions of the area, the alert established is yellow. Instabilities in Mato Grosso do Sul and other regions In Mato Grosso do Sul, instabilities intensify on Thursday, especially in the southern and eastern regions. The extreme south of the state is under a red alert for great danger, while other areas have orange and yellow warnings. For Friday, rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue in the central-south and east, and much of the state will remain under a yellow alert for storms. Other states such as Goiás, Mato Grosso, and the Federal District may also record rain and thunderstorms, with low air humidity being a notable factor in some of these areas. São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Minas Gerais will also face unstable weather. On Thursday, there is an orange warning for storms in the extreme southwest and extreme south of São Paulo. Additional areas of São Paulo, the Triângulo Mineiro, southern Minas Gerais, and much of Rio de Janeiro are under a yellow alert. Forecasts for Friday and other regions On Friday, rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected to hit São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and southern Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo entirely. The extreme south of São Paulo maintains the orange warning, while other parts of São Paulo and the Southeast are under a yellow alert. In the North, Amazonas presents the areas with the greatest instability. In the Northeast, precipitation tends to be concentrated mainly on the coast, while the interior remains drier and hotter.
