The financial sector of Uzbekistan is showing growth, but the cost of its services has increased significantly. According to data, between September 2025 and September 2026, insurance and financial services increased in price by 43.8%, which was the highest annual increase among major service categories.
The core of the financial market consists of services not related to insurance and pension provision, accounting for 85.7% of the total volume. The share of insurance services is 7%, and auxiliary financial services account for another 7.3%.
The volume of the financial services market continues to grow. According to the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, in January–August 2026, this volume reached 144.7 trillion soums, exceeding the figure for the same period last year by 22.5%.
The distribution of the financial services volume by region reveals a significant difference between the capital and other parts of the country. Tashkent city accumulated 85.6 trillion soums, which accounts for almost 60% of the republic's total volume.
In other regions, the indicators for the volume of financial services are significantly lower. For January–August 2026, the following regions recorded the following volumes:
- Fergana region — 7 trillion soums;
- Andijan region — 6.6 trillion soums;
- Tashkent region — 6.5 trillion soums;
- Samarkand region — 5.6 trillion soums;
- Kashkadarya region — 4.8 trillion soums;
- Khorezm and Surkhandarya regions — 4.1 trillion soums each;
- Bukhara region — 4 trillion soums;
- Namangan region — 3.9 trillion soums;
- Jizzakh region — 3.6 trillion soums;
- Karakalpakstan Republic — 3.3 trillion soums;
- Navoi region — 3.2 trillion soums;
- Syr Darya region — 2.4 trillion soums.
Thus, the Uzbek market demonstrates simultaneous growth: the volume of financial services is increasing, but their cost to the consumer is also rising substantially.
