By the end of the current year, a project to create a new zone for recreation, trade, and entertainment will be implemented in the Romitansk district of Bukhara region, Uzbekistan. This project is part of three large-scale initiatives aimed at stimulating tourism growth and business activity, as well as creating 240 new jobs.
The first phase of this program focuses on improving the coastal area. Currently, a 500-meter section along the bank is being developed where various facilities are planned to be placed: trade points, public catering establishments, recreation areas, and other service institutions.
Twelve entrepreneurs have joined the project. Places will be organized on their territories where both local residents and visiting guests can relax, have a snack, and spend free time.
The creation of this new tourist attraction is intended not only to increase the attractiveness of the coastline but also to have a positive additional impact on local businesses. It is expected that the launch of these projects will lead to increased employment among the population and the activation of entrepreneurial activity in Romitan.
It should be noted that previously the Zarafshan River had issues with overflowing its banks, which led to damage to the railway track in Samarkand region, as the water flow during this period increased almost fourfold.
