The men's chess team of Uzbekistan faced a defeat for the first time at the World Chess Olympiad held in the country. In the match of the 8th round, the Uzbekistan team lost to the Germany team with a score of 1.5:2.5.
During this match, Javohir Sindorov initially won his game. However, subsequent results were less favorable: Nodirbek Yakubboev and Shamsiddin Vohidov lost their games. Furthermore, the draw achieved by Nodirbek Abdusattorov did not allow the hosts to equalize in the overall standings.
This result marked the first defeat of the national team in this tournament. Until then, Uzbek chess players had shown flawless play, achieving a hundred percent result in the previous seven rounds and holding leading positions in the tournament table.
