Uzbekistan enters the TOP-20 countries by number of applications for the International CARDO Award

Uzbekistan has secured a spot in the top twenty countries based on the number of applications submitted to the IX International CARDO Award, which is dedicated to street culture and sports, among 195 countries worldwide (with 193 states registered at the UN).

The organizer of this award is the presidential platform 'Russia — Country of Opportunities'. The grand final of the ninth season is scheduled for September 17 to 20, 2026. This event will be held on the Russian Far East for the first time in nine years of the project's history.

The event is focused on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) on Russky Island. There, the stadium was transformed into the KARDO complex, which combines various zones: sports fields, a skate park, ramps, as well as spaces for rap battles, lectures, and creative workshops.

Over 500 finalists arrived in Vladivostok, representing 195 countries, with about 45% of them being foreign participants. The KARDO Award was established nine years ago as a Russian street culture festival and has since transformed into a global platform gathering participants, experts, and representatives of street communities from all over the globe.

Andrey Betin, CEO of the Presidential Platform 'Russia — Country of Opportunities', emphasized that 'KARDO is more than just a competition. It is a space where youth from different countries can develop their talents, exchange experiences, and find new opportunities through sports, culture, and creativity.'

The award program covers competitions in 13 different disciplines, divided into three main categories: extreme sports (including BMX, rollerblading, scooter, and skateboarding), street sports (consisting of tricking, workout, freerunning, and parkour), and street culture (covering DJing, graffiti, rap, hip-hop, and breaking).

In addition to the competitive part, participants are offered educational lectures, master classes, and meetings with leading industry specialists. The award also features a video contest, a grant contest, a young street fashion designer contest, and an awards ceremony for significant contributions to the development of this field.

Uzbek boxers won three gold medals at international tournament in Chita

The Uzbekistan national team demonstrated impressive results at the Eurasian Dauria Cup international tournament held in Chita. The athletes won three gold medals and one silver medal.

Tournament Results

Uzbek boxers confidently took prize places in three different weight categories. Among the main winners of the tournament are Bekhon Abdullaev, Umarkhon Mirzakhonov, and Sarvar Mirzakulov. These athletes won gold medals in the under 75, 81, and 92 kilograms categories, respectively.

Abdullokh Abdullaev brought the national team a silver medal. He reached the final in the under 60 kilograms weight class but lost in the final bout.

At the competition, Uzbek athletes competed against boxers from Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and several other countries. The Eurasian Dauria Cup itself was held in Chita as part of the development of sports interaction between various countries.

It was previously noted that five boxers representing Uzbekistan, according to data from the BoxRec statistical portal, are among the ten strongest amateur fighters in the world regardless of weight class. The leader of this ranking is Olympic champion Abdumalik Khalokov.

Uzbekistan National Team Takes Fifth Place at World Nomadic Games in Kyrgyzstan

The Uzbekistan national team won 19 medals at the VI World Nomadic Games held in Kyrgyzstan. Thanks to this result, the team secured fifth place in the overall medal standings.

Uzbek athletes received four gold, four silver, and eleven bronze awards. The competitions started on August 31 and concluded on September 6. Approximately 3 thousand athletes from 113 different countries participated, competing in 43 different disciplines.

Results and Team Standings

In the final count, Uzbekistan was directly behind Mongolia, which earned 21 medals, including five gold, three silver, and thirteen bronze. Furthermore, in terms of gold medals, the Uzbek team lagged behind only four other nations.

Kazakhstan won the Games, with its athletes securing 74 awards: 32 gold, 20 silver, and 22 bronze. Kyrgyzstan came in second place, collecting 84 medals, although only 30 of them were gold. Russia took third place, showing 36 awards, including seven gold ones.

It is important to note that the ranking in the final table was based on the number of gold medals, not on the total number of awards received.

Additionally, it is reported that the Afghanistan national team previously withdrew from the kokpar tournament. This decision was made by the team after losing to Uzbekistan with a score of 1:4; the reason for withdrawal was problems with horses.
