According to the Tourism Committee, Uzbekistan welcomed 9.1 million foreign guests from January to August 2026. This figure demonstrates an increase of 21.1% compared to the same period in 2025.
During the first seven months of the current year, 7.7 million foreign citizens entered Uzbekistan, meaning that an additional 1.4 million tourists were registered in August.
A significant growth in tourist travel was noted in several important international destinations. The number of trips by Chinese citizens increased by 2.3 times compared to last year, and arrivals from Malaysia doubled. Tourist visits from Japan grew by 1.5 times, from the United States by 1.4 times, and from Russia by 1.3 times.
The flow of visitors from European countries also continued to grow. The number of tourists from Germany increased by 25%, while Uzbekistan welcomed 21% more guests from France and the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, the number of tourists from Turkey increased by 15%.
Parallel to the increase in the number of foreign visitors, the export of tourism services revenue also grew. During the reporting period, this amount reached 4.6 billion US dollars, which is 53.5% higher than the figures for January-August 2025.
Thus, the growth in the number of foreign visitors was accompanied by a substantially greater increase in the export of tourism services.
