Vocational school to open in Uzbekistan to train specialists for Chinese automakers

A multi-profile Chinese International Technical School is planned to open in Tashkent in partnership with China Oriental Education Holdings Limited. This project resolution is currently undergoing public discussion, which will conclude by September 1st.

The new educational institution will be located on the territory of the Republican Technical School of Television and Radio in the Bektemir district. The building for the technical school's needs will be provided free of charge for two decades.

China Oriental Education Holdings is investing $5.1 million in the creation of the technical school through foreign direct investment. The technical school will operate as a private educational institution, with China Oriental Education Holdings and the Agency for Vocational Training as its founders.

The educational process will be conducted on a paid contract basis, offering day, evening, and dual forms of study. The main task of the technical school is to train qualified middle-level personnel and organize practical classes according to the requests of major Chinese automakers.

Graduates will receive diplomas of professional education valid in Uzbekistan, as well as international certificates. The technical school plans to recruit both local and foreign instructors.

Tashkent plans to establish Chinese international technical college

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, plans to open a multidisciplinary Chinese International Technical College in partnership with China Oriental Education Holdings Limited. The institution's project has been submitted as a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers for public discussion.

It is proposed that the college be located on the territory of the Republican College of Television and Radio in the Bektemir district. The building is planned to be provided for free targeted use for twenty years.

According to the draft document, China Oriental Education Holdings will invest 5.1 million US dollars in foreign direct investment to create this educational institution. The college will operate as a non-state organization. Among the proposed founders are China Oriental Education Holdings and the Agency for Vocational Education under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

Educational programs will be offered on a paid contract basis in various formats: full-time, evening, and combined. The college will train mid-level specialists and organize practical training for students based on orders from major Chinese automakers such as BYD, Chery, and JAC.

Graduates will be able to obtain both professional education diplomas recognized in Uzbekistan and international certificates. As part of the investment project, China Oriental Education Holdings will undertake the reconstruction of existing buildings, the construction of new workshops, and their equipping with modern equipment. Specialists from Uzbekistan and other countries are planned to be hired as teachers, and the company will also organize advanced training programs for local teachers in China.

This project provides for the cessation of admissions to the Republican College of Television and Radio starting from the 2027–2028 academic year. Students who are already studying by that time will be able to complete their education under current programs.

The draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers has not yet been approved, and the public discussion of the document will continue until September 1, 2026.

Bauman MSTU branch opening in Tashkent preparation; meeting held for applicants

An event dedicated to admission to the Tashkent branch of Bauman MSTU for the 2026/2027 academic year took place at the office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Uzbekistan.

Irina Staroselskaya, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic of Uzbekistan, delivered a welcoming speech. She emphasized that the establishment of the Bauman MSTU branch in Tashkent expands access for Uzbek youth to high-quality engineering and technical education and contributes to the training of qualified personnel.

Several representatives participated in the meeting: Anton Egorov, Director of International Activities at Bauman MSTU; Ilya Matveev, First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan; Philip Galnbek, Bauman MSTU representative in the Republic of Uzbekistan; and Sardor Donaev, Acting Director of the university's Tashkent branch.

More than 70 people attended the event, including schoolchildren, applicants, and their parents. Participants were provided with information about the branch's study programs, admission requirements, entrance exams, grant opportunities, and prospects for future employment.

In 2026, the branch plans to accept students in three bachelor's specialties: 'Computer Science and Computer Engineering,' 'Information Systems and Technologies,' and 'Design and Technology of Electronic Means.' The total number of available places is 100, of which 30 are allocated based on state grants of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Significant attention was paid to the practical component of the training, as well as the role of Bauman MSTU teachers in the educational process. Cooperation with industry companies and the possibility of internships were also discussed.

In the final part of the meeting, university representatives answered questions posed by prospective applicants and their parents.
