Forecasters predict temperature drop in Uzbekistan to 30 degrees in August

After a period of relatively cool weather, hot weather will return to Uzbekistan. According to Uzgidromet data, air temperatures in some parts of the country will reach from 41 to 42 degrees during the weekend. At the same time, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and mudflows in mountainous areas.

Uzgidromet predicts a gradual increase in temperatures from August 7 to 9. On Friday afternoon, most of the country will be heated up to 34–37 degrees. However, on Saturday and Sunday, a rise to 37–40 degrees is expected. In the northern, southern, and desert regions, the heat may intensify to 41–42 degrees.

No precipitation is forecast for most of the territory, except in mountainous areas, where localized short-term rains with thunderstorms are possible. Forecasters also warn of an increased risk of floods and mudslides in the foothills and mountainous areas of the Tashkent region, as well as in the Fergana Valley regions.

In windy weather, which is expected in the north and desert zone on August 8 and 9, wind speeds may reach 13–18 meters per second, which could lead to the formation of dust storms.

In the capital, Tashkent, precipitation is also not expected. The temperature today in the afternoon will be about 36 degrees, and on the weekend it will rise to 37–39 degrees. Nighttime temperatures in Tashkent are predicted to be within 21–24 degrees, with wind speeds of 3–8 meters per second.
