Participants of Uzbekistan Chemistry Olympiad won 4 medals; cash reward amounts announced

At the Asian Aquatics Championships held in Bangkok, athletes from Uzbekistan achieved significant success on the first day of the finals. Muhammad Ismail Rakhmonov brought the first gold medal to the Uzbekistan team, and Parizod Abdukarimova won a bronze medal.

Gold in Men's Swimming

Uzbek swimmer Muhammad Ismail Rakhmonov won the final race in the 200-meter breaststroke event. He finished the race with a time of 2 minutes 16.17 seconds, ahead of Ray Juan from Chinese Taipei, whose result was 2 minutes 17.08 seconds, and Wu Yuilun from Hong Kong, who finished in 2 minutes 18.01 seconds. This gold medal became the first top-tier award for the Uzbekistan delegation at this continental championship.

Bronze in Women's Swimming

In the women's competition, Parizod Abdukarimova won a bronze medal in the 100-meter backstroke event. Her result was 1 minute 04.71 seconds. The winner of this race was Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Tien, representing Vietnam, with a time of 1 minute 03.84 seconds. Second place was taken by Kanittha Tungnapakorn from Thailand, who finished in 1 minute 04.14 seconds.

A solemn awards ceremony for participants of the international student olympiad 'I Am a Professional' took place in Moscow, at the National Center 'Russia'. Uzbekistan became the only foreign country whose representative won the highest award.
