Coach Roberto Martinez presented 27 players called up to the national team today in Dallas, USA, during the last training session before the clash with Spain in the 16th round of the 2026 World Cup playoffs.
Training Session in Texas
At the Washburne Soccer and Track Stadium in Texas, all footballers demonstrated their readiness for the upcoming match between the Iberian Peninsula teams, at least during the first fifteen minutes of the session open to the press.
During this period, when the air temperature reached 32 degrees and the sun was scorching, the Portuguese team conducted standard warm-up exercises under Martinez's supervision, as well as in front of about 200 foreign journalists, including television correspondents and photographers from around the world who attended the event.
Preview and Match
After the training, at 12:45 local time (18:45 Lisbon time), Roberto Martinez, along with another unnamed player, will conduct a match preview against Spain. The game will take place in Arlington, approximately 30 kilometers from Dallas, at the massive AT&T stadium, which is the venue for the match and the largest facility of the 2026 World Cup, with a capacity of 94 thousand spectators.
The match between Portugal and Spain is scheduled for Monday and will be officiated by Englishman Anthony Taylor. The game is set to start at 14:00 (20:00 local time).
World Cup Information
The 2026 World Cup, which will be the first with 48 national teams participating, will take place until July 19 in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
