Violations of child transport rules detected in Navoi region

A number of violations of rules regulating the transportation of minors were discovered in the Navoi region of Uzbekistan. Among the identified cases was the use of 'Damas' type vehicles exceeding the permissible number of passengers.

In one incident in the Khatirchi district, it was recorded that there were 22 children in the vehicle, although initial reports indicated 33 people. The 'Damas' car, belonging to a private preschool educational institution, was transporting children from their homes to kindergarten.

The driver reported that traffic police officers stopped the vehicle during an inspection and found 22 children inside.

Another case involved a woman who identified herself as a kindergarten director and her driver. They had previously been warned for a similar violation and gave a written commitment not to repeat it. However, during a subsequent check, 14 children were found in the 'Damas' car. According to the authors of the video recording, the woman was trying to avoid receiving another fine.

Another registered case in the region included the transport of two children, estimated to be about four or five years old, in the front passenger seat of a car.

The report also mentions a road traffic accident that occurred in the Navoi region on May 5, 2026. The driver of a 'Matiz' car, which was transporting 14 children, was involved in an accident and died. The children were injured and taken to the hospital.

Despite information campaigns and warnings, reports of violations of minor transportation rules continue to come in. The report emphasizes that exceeding the established passenger limit and failing to comply with safety requirements endanger the life and health of children, especially in the event of sudden braking or collision.
