India Today Group is organizing a major international conference dedicated to the future of Indian agriculture and farmers, titled 'Kisan Tak Bharat Agricultural Conference 2026'. The event will take place on November 11 and 12 at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will serve as the keynote speaker.
The conference will host farmers from across the country, central ministers, chief ministers of states, policy-making officials, diplomats, industry representatives, and agricultural scientists. Discussions will cover current challenges in agriculture, new technologies, and opportunities for farmer development.
Organized by Mahindra Tractors, the conference theme is 'Smart Farmer, Developed India'. Approximately 2,000 farmers from various regions are expected to attend. The main focus will be on the experiences and needs of farmers, as well as the implementation of new farming methods. Topics to be discussed include precision agriculture, more efficient use of water and other resources through Artificial Intelligence (AI), and climate-resilient crops. The goal is to ensure that scientific knowledge and new technologies directly reach the farmers.
As part of the event, about 20 farmers from different parts of the country will share stories of their success and struggles. Among them are Raibai Soma Popre, Trinity Sai, Nek Ram Sharma, Sultan Singh, and Sundaram Varma, who have successfully combined traditional methods with new approaches, improving their yield and income. Stories of women farmers and rural entrepreneurs will also be presented.
The program also includes cultural performances, such as folk music and Bhojpuri songs, to be performed by Prahlad Tipania, Rudra Pratap Rudra, and Chandan Tiwari. Actor, singer, and MP Manoj Tiwari will also participate in the conference.
Since about 46 percent of India's population is engaged in agriculture, changes in this sector affect the majority of the population. According to the Economic Survey for 2025-26, grain production reached a record 357.73 million tons. The conference will discuss how farmers can receive fair prices for their harvest and increase their incomes. Furthermore, methods to overcome issues with bringing produce to market and promoting Indian agricultural products internationally will be examined.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that the 'India Agricultural Conference' will pave a new path towards farmer prosperity. He emphasized that the true foundation of 'Developed India 2047' is the smart farmer and a healthy agrarian system. Smart farming, in this context, implies not only adopting new technologies but also maintaining soil health, reducing production costs, and increasing farmers' profits.
Arun Puri, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of India Today Group, noted that agriculture is the largest employment sector in the country, and its future determines the direction of national development. Through this conference, farmers' experiences will be integrated with science, government policy, and the business sector.
Kelly Puri, Vice President and Executive Editor of India Today Group, stated that there are many inspiring stories of hard work and new thinking in villages. Thanks to the Prime Minister's address and the participation of farmers, these stories will gain a national and international platform.
V. J. Nakra, President of the Mahindra & Mahindra Agricultural Equipment division, noted that farmers are responsible for the country's food security amidst uncertainty, and new methodologies and technologies are necessary to make agriculture simpler and more profitable.
Following PM Modi's speech, the event will conclude with discussions on further steps to strengthen farmers and achieve the goal of 'Developed India'.
