The International Forum on Mutual Learning of Civilizations 2026 will take place in the Special Administrative Region of Macau, China, on November 9. The event will gather about 300 delegates from more than 20 countries for two days of discussions dedicated to cultural heritage, intercivilizational exchange, and the challenges of the digital age.
Under the motto 'Mutual Learning Among Civilizations, Heritage, and Development,' the forum has planned nearly 40 thematic sessions and academic exchanges. The program includes keynote speeches, subforums, and scientific salons.
The topics under discussion cover a wide range of issues: historical connections between the ancient Silk Road and the 'Belt and Road' initiative; the role of East-West exchange and mutual learning in shaping a global community with a common future for humanity; cultural exchange between China and Portuguese-speaking countries; and the governance of global Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the impact of AI on cultural exchange and human values.
The forum is organized by the government of the Special Administrative Region of Macau with the academic support of the Chinese Academy of History, which is part of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The goal of the event is to promote dialogue and mutual understanding among different civilizations, as well as to highlight Macau's role as a platform for international cooperation and cultural exchange.
