The film 'Hanuman ANSH', based on the life of Nima Kolali Baba, is preparing for release on the OTT streaming platform. Despite being shot on a budget of only 20 million rupees, it grossed 452.86 million rupees worldwide. Following its successful theatrical run over 60 days, the film will become available on the SonyLIV platform starting November 27th.
The announcement of 'Hanuman ANSH's' OTT release came amid disputes among the creators regarding the film's rights. Since numerous producers are involved in the project, disagreements have arisen concerning profit distribution. Due to questions about who will manage the film's rights and related business, two members of the crew published an official public notice.
Namrata Ji Singh and director Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi issued a joint statement through Swambhu Media Network. In it, they provided information regarding the film's rights, distribution process, and communication. Both introduced themselves as executive directors of the company. They also clarified who would handle the film's promotion, marketing, awards, and partnerships.
In the statement, published on Instagram on Monday, November 2nd, it is emphasized that there is only one authorized channel for 'Hanuman ANSH'. The company discovered that one individual claimed to have authority over matters related to the film's rights, but no single person possesses such authority.
Furthermore, the document states that all rights to the film—theatrical, streaming, broadcast, music, gaming, and licensing—will be managed according to agreements made between producers in India and abroad. Namrata and Vishal have been assigned the company for public relations, marketing, awards, and partnerships. The statement asserts that no one has the right to enter into deals on behalf of the film alone; any such transaction will be invalid and hold no force for the company or the producers. Any claim, award nomination, or business agreement made outside this procedure will not be recognized by the company.
The creators also requested that actors and the crew refrain from making any comments about the film or presenting it in interviews, podcasts, public events, and promotional activities without consulting the official communications team. The statement concluded by clearly stating that only the officially provided names will remain in the credits.
Additionally, distributors, international sales agents, streaming platforms, and other industry partners were advised to contact only the authorized personnel for any business inquiries regarding the film. A note further mentions that the film has four producers: Namrata Ji Singh, Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi, Ragini Sona, and Anupriya Nagar. The rights to the film belong to them jointly.
During this dispute, 21-year-old producer Anupriya Nagar attracted significant attention during the promotion. Previously, in an interview with The Indian Express, she stated that she was involved with the project when the film was in post-production. She also mentioned the possibility of turning the story of 'Hanuman ANSH' into a trilogy consisting of three films and suggested that the entire team could reunite for a second film.
