Registration Open for Dubai Run 2026: Information on Routes and Bib Collection

Registration has opened for the Dubai Run 2026, the world's largest event of its kind, which plans to transform Sheikh Zayed Road into a giant track on November 22. Participants can choose between 5 km or 10 km distances to see Dubai's attractions up close, whether they are running, jogging, or simply walking, as Dubai Run is accessible to everyone.

Although the start is scheduled for 6:30 AM, various arrival times are provided starting from 4 AM, and participants must arrive within their allocated time slot. The number of spots for each start time is limited to ensure safety. The start line will close at 8 AM.

The 5 km distance is a suitable option for families and beginners. It starts on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Museum of the Future, passes by the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Opera, and finishes near the Dubai Mall.

The longer 10 km challenge runs through the city. It starts near the Museum of the Future, crosses the Dubai Canal Bridge, then follows Sheikh Zayed Road, and finishes near the DIFC gates.

Registered participants must collect their bib number and T-shirt at the Dubai Municipality 30x30 Fitness Village Zabeel Park between November 9 and 21. The collection schedule is as follows: Monday to Thursday – from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM; Friday – from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM; and Saturday and Sunday – from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Other individuals can collect the bib number upon presentation of a valid registration QR code. Participants without a number will not be allowed to participate; if a number is lost, re-registration is required to obtain a new one. If driving, it is recommended to park at one of the Dubai World Trade Centre parking lots for the 10 km route or at the Dubai Mall for the 5 km route, and then take the Dubai Metro to the start line. A Nol card with a balance of at least 15 dirhams is necessary to minimize queues on the day of the event.

For the 5 km route, proceed to the World Trade Centre Metro station, and for the 10 km route, go to the Emirates Towers Metro station. Taxis can also be used; special pick-up and drop-off points are provided near the start lines.

As previously reported by Khaleej Times, the bus and taxi route at the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro station is closed until the end of 2026. The Dubai Fitness Challenge website advises using an alternative route to the Business Bay Metro station.

Dubai Run is positioned not as a competition; everyone is welcome to complete their route at their own pace. Parents and legal guardians can register up to three children for Dubai Run; children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Large bags are not permitted—only essential personal items should be brought. Strollers are allowed on the 5 km route, but pets are not permitted. Medical assistance and water stations will be available throughout the course. In case of need, contact the nearest marshal or medical staff of Dubai Run or call 901. A limited number of toilets will be available at the start and finish lines.

Information on routes, registration, parking, and equipment for Dubai Ride 2026 participants

Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai will be transformed into a cycling track on Sunday, November 1st, as part of the opening of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, marking the return of the Dubai Ride event.

This free event offers two routes: a more challenging 12-kilometer route along Sheikh Zayed Road for experienced cyclists and an easier 4-kilometer Family Route in the city center for children, families, and beginner participants. Participants are advised to review the following information before heading out.

Is it still possible to register?

Although participation in the event is free, registration is mandatory. Participants must complete online registration to receive their race number. Organizers strongly advise registering immediately and not relying on same-day registration.

Every participant must wear a bib number. Without it, they will not be allowed to participate. Adults must register separately. Parents or legal guardians can register up to three children, provided they agree to a waiver of liability for all persons under 18 years of age.

Collecting Race Numbers

Race numbers can be collected at the Fitness Village Dubai Municipality, located in Zabeel Park, Gate 2, until Saturday, October 31st. The collection point's operating hours on Saturday are set from 8 AM to 11 PM. Cyclists should bring their registration QR code or electronic confirmation. A friend or family member can collect a number for another person if they have the QR code. Participants who opted for a Dubai Ride T-shirt during registration can pick it up along with their number.

What time does Dubai Ride start?

The event is scheduled to begin at 6 AM, with the cycling tracks opening at 6:15 AM. All participants are expected to start moving by 7:30 AM, and the track will close at 8 AM. Organizers recommend arriving between 4 AM and 6 AM, especially those traveling to the start zone by car. Since roads around the route will be closed in advance, being late may result in missing the event.

What routes are available?

The 12 km route along Sheikh Zayed Road is intended for experienced cyclists. It passes by landmarks such as the Museum of the Future, the Dubai Water Canal, and the Burj Khalifa. Participants can start from one of five starting points: Museum of the Future, Al Satwa, Coca-Cola Arena, Business Bay, and Downtown Dubai.

The 4-kilometer Family Route in the city center is a flatter loop around the Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera, and Burj Khalifa, designed for cyclists of all ages and skill levels.

It is important to note that Dubai Ride is not a race. Participants must adhere to a speed limit of 25 km/h and finish the ride at a gate corresponding to their chosen starting point.

Can I use the metro?

Yes, the Dubai Metro will start operating at 3 AM on Sunday, earlier than its usual Sunday schedule, to help participants reach the venue. However, there is an important restriction: bicycles are prohibited on the metro. Cyclists using public transport will need to find an alternative way to transport their bicycle to the start zone. Furthermore, RTA has advised metro users to have at least 30 dirhams on their Nol card.

Where can I park?

RTA has designated three parking locations: Dubai World Trade Centre parking, Dubai Mall parking, and Dubai Mall Zabeel parking. Parking spaces are limited, so participants should arrive early and follow the instructions of staff and signs.

What must I bring?

Essential items include a fully functional bicycle, a helmet, and the attached participant number. Helmets are required for all cyclists, including children riding in bike seats or trailers. Organizers also ask participants to bring a Dubai Ride T-shirt and a filled water bottle. Large bags are not permitted, and baggage drop-off or changing facilities are not provided. It is recommended to wear closed athletic shoes and comfortable clothing; it may be cool before dawn, but the temperature will rise quickly.

Pedal-assisted e-bikes, tandem bicycles, children's bikes, and trailers are allowed, provided they are safe for the route. E-scooters, motorcycles, and other motorized vehicles are prohibited. Mechanics, marshals, medical teams, and water stations will be available along the entire route.

Dubai plans to create a 24-karat gold pedestrian walkway to attract tourists

Dubai, known for its luxury and unique attractions, is preparing to introduce a new special tourist attraction. Plans are underway to create the world's longest pedestrian walkway made of 24-karat gold. This project is scheduled to begin in late 2026, aiming to offer tourists a new experience and reinforce Dubai's reputation as a major global hub for gold and jewelry trade.

According to Rashid Al Harmoudi, Senior Director of the Dubai Gold Souk, this special walkway is expected to open within the next two months. However, complete information regarding its length, the amount of gold used, and construction methods is currently unavailable. In addition to creating a unique route, the project aims to stimulate tourism in Dubai by allowing visitors to get close to the world of gold and jewelry trading.

The Dubai Gold Souk is located in the Deira district of the city and is a well-known center for the trade of gold, jewelry, and precious metals. Numerous businesses operate here, ranging from wholesale gold trading to retail jewelry stores. This area is actively developing specifically for buyers and tourists interested in purchasing gold and jewelry. The golden walkway is part of this overall concept, designed to present the Dubai Gold Souk as a special place where people can not only shop but also gain a unique experience.

Parallel to the plans for the 24-karat gold walkway, a record was set in Dubai involving gold earrings weighing over 16 kilograms. Both events highlight Dubai's characteristics related to gold and jewelry. Dubai has long been known on the world stage as a center for gold trade and jewelry purchases, and now, thanks to initiatives like the Golden Walkway, it seeks to attract even more tourists and strengthen its recognition.
