A large gathering of sadhus, dharmacharis, and Sanatana Dharma followers took place at the historic Shri Radhakanta temple in Varindavan, Mathura. This meeting was jointly organized by the Braj Tirtha Devalaya Foundation and the Religion Protection Association. The session was presided over by Mahant Phuldol Bihari Das Maharaj. The assembly was convened amid debates that arose following Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, head of Bagneshwar Dham, statement regarding the form of Lord Krishna.
Speakers at the meeting demonstrated solidarity with Dhirendra Shastri, linking his remarks to the traditions of rasika (devotional) worship in Braj, and called for unity within the Sanatana society.
Bhagavataacharya Mridul Kant Shastri noted that the tribhangi (three-posture) form of Lord Krishna is part of the ancient tradition of Sanatana Dharma, which has been described by poets and acharyas for centuries. Mahant Harishankar Das Naga, president of Akhada Parishad Varindavan, emphasized that rasika sadhus have always described the Banki Chitvan and the tribhangi mudra of the Lord, so this should be understood in the context of devotion, not turned into a dispute.
Furthermore, Saurabh Gaur, national president of the Religion Protection Association, stated that Dhirendra Shastri is awakening the Sanatana society, and it is incorrect to create disputes by separating a person's words from their context. Thus, after the discussion about Rama and Krishna, Dhirendra Shastri received support from the Mathura sadhus.
Maharatma R.K. Pandey, general secretary of the Braj Tirtha Devalaya Foundation, reported that Lord Krishna resides in every particle of Braj, and Banke Bihari is associated with His tribhangi form. Mahant Phuldol Bihari Das Maharaj, who chaired the meeting, advised against making a statement a subject of dispute unless there is malicious intent. Ramakant Goswami, president of the Braj Tirtha Devalaya Foundation, urged the Sanatana society to direct its energy towards preserving culture rather than internal disagreements. Anand Ballab Goswami, president of Brahman Seva Sangha, and Swami Devanand Parmhans also highlighted the necessity of maintaining dialogue and self-control.
