Illegal extraction of sand and gravel was discovered in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan on the right bank of the Chirchik River, in the Yukorichirk area.
The violation was identified by officers of the Environmental Police during a nighttime raid in the Nurafshon mahalla. According to the inspection results, the extracted materials were being sent to a nearby stone processing quarry.
Inspectors also established that some pits left after the extraction were filled with construction waste and then covered with earth. Drivers of the involved vehicles were questioned, relevant reports were drawn up, and the vehicles themselves were impounded.
Specialists conducted measurements to determine the exact volume of illegally extracted sand and gravel. After the final assessment is completed, the materials will be handed over to law enforcement agencies for legal examination of the violations and the adoption of appropriate measures.
