Coforge joins SpaceX partner network to implement Grok-based solutions for clients

The Indian IT company Coforge announced on Friday its entry into the SpaceX Superintelligence Partner Network. The goal of this collaboration is to assist companies in integrating the Grok artificial intelligence portfolio into their workflows.

Coforge will act as a 'Transformation Partner,' developing specialized Grok-based solutions for various industries and integrating them into clients' existing systems and workflows. Financial details of this partnership were not disclosed by the company.

The implementation of these solutions will be carried out through Momentuum Blue—a client-focused division of Coforge. This division places teams of engineers and AI agents directly within client organizations, linking their work to agreed-upon business objectives.

Coforge emphasized that the partnership will rely on its AI-driven modernization and engineering services, including the Nuuron AI enterprise platform. Anup Nair, Director of Commercial AI at Coforge, noted: 'We bring industry context, engineering expertise, and implementation capabilities to transform Grok technology into ready-to-use solutions, ranging from software modernization and customer service to enterprise applications.'

The Grok portfolio includes tools for image and video generation, as well as for chat, research, analysis, software development, and conversational services. Coforge specified that the SpaceXSI network is a partnership program for companies that create products and services using Grok for current and potential customers.

SpaceX plans to buy residences of neighbors affected by the noise from its data centers

It is common for residents near data centers to complain about the disturbances caused by these facilities. To solve this situation, SpaceX apparently found a drastic approach: acquiring houses located near a power plant that directly supplies these data centers.

The specific case involves SpaceXSI, an entity formed by the merger of xAI with SpaceX. xAI was established by Elon Musk in 2023 with the goal of developing artificial intelligence services and technologies, including Grok.

As is known, AI applications require specialized data centers. For this reason, SpaceXSI erected such facilities in 2024, still under the name xAI, in the Memphis area, United States.

Data centers consume a large amount of electricity. To meet this demand, SpaceXSI installed a energy production infrastructure consisting of 69 temporary gas-powered turbines in the city of Southaven. However, these turbines generate considerable noise, causing great inconvenience to local residents, in addition to other problems such as air pollution.

According to a report by The Guardian, SpaceXSI began assigning real estate agents to approach residents near the plant, offering purchase proposals for their properties.

A real estate agent informed a resident that Elon Musk's company project plans to buy 418 houses in the region, of which 18 have already been negotiated. Additionally, five other residences have already been acquired by MZX, a SpaceX subsidiary responsible for operating the energy structure.

According to the same newspaper, the purchased houses will be used to house the company's employees. The acquisition offers are priced at values close to US$ 180,000, which represents the estimated average price of houses in that locality.

There is a condition imposed on this transaction: the resident who wishes to sell their house must agree not to take legal action against SpaceXSI due to the inconveniences caused by the electric plant.

Indeed, there is a class-action lawsuit against SpaceXSI ongoing since June of this year. In this lawsuit, residents allege that the plant produces a continuous sound, which often resembles the noise of aircraft. In this context, the purchase of the residences emerges as a tactic to prevent the judicial conflict from escalating.

In the following month, the company reached an agreement with state regulatory bodies to convert the plant into a permanent gas power generation facility. This change will involve a more modern structure, which in turn should reduce the noise level emitted by the temporary turbines.

SpaceXSI had also previously made statements about implementing measures to mitigate the disturbances, such as building acoustic barriers and adjusting power generation capacity.

However, the supposed strategy of buying properties in the area raises questions about whether Elon Musk's company truly intends to be a cordial neighbor, as suggested.

To date, SpaceXSI has not issued any official statement regarding this property acquisition plan.

Elon Musk is considering the merger of SpaceX and Tesla, which could become the largest corporate combination

Elon Musk is studying the possibility of merging SpaceX and Tesla. Both organizations have established special committees to evaluate the deal, which could potentially become the largest corporate combination in history, valued at approximately $3.5 trillion.

SpaceX was founded by Musk in 2002 with the goal of reducing spaceflight costs and ultimately sending humans to Mars. Its reusable Falcon 9 rockets dominate the global launch market, the Dragon capsule delivers NASA astronauts to the International Space Station, and the Starlink satellite network provides internet worldwide.

The company has ceased to be solely a rocket manufacturer. In February, it acquired xAI, Musk's artificial intelligence startup known for its chatbot Grok, which took control of the social network X in 2025. SpaceX went public this year with a record offering and is now valued at approximately $2 trillion. A significant part of its recent growth is linked to renting out data center computing power to other AI companies.

Tesla was founded in 2003 and became a globally recognized electric vehicle manufacturer after Musk took over as CEO in 2008. Its valuation is around $1.5 trillion. The company's core automotive business faces pressure, and Musk increasingly presents Tesla as a company focused on robotaxis with autonomous driving capabilities and the humanoid robot Optimus.

Reasons for a possible merger

Musk told analysts on Tuesday that the merger would be a 'good idea.' Florian Frischmut from consulting firm Envorso noted that the combined entity could centrally control key AI components—chips, energy, and connectivity. Garrett Nelson of CFRA Research wrote in his note that the synergistic effect would likely be minor compared to the size of the deal, which he believes would mainly concern control.

Musk owns about 82 percent of SpaceX's voting shares but only about 20 percent in Tesla, where his actions have drawn the attention of investors and lawsuits.

How easily will this happen

Most analysts expect the deal to close. Dan Ives of Yorkville Ives told AFP that, in his opinion, after Musk discusses the deal, the question is not whether it will happen, but when. He assessed the chances at 90 percent by early 2027 and suggested that Tesla would likely need to be valued above $500 per share to gain approval.

However, Musk warned that the merger is not guaranteed; it requires support from the majority of all Tesla shares, which he called a 'quite high barrier.' Nevertheless, Nelson noted that loyal retail investors own an estimated 25–27 percent of Tesla shares. Considering Musk's stake, only a small portion of institutional investors would be needed to support the deal.

Legal hurdles appear minimal, as both companies have moved their registration from Delaware to Texas, according to Ann Lipton, a law professor at the University of Colorado. In Texas, shareholders challenging the deal must first prove fraud or intentional misconduct, and companies can require that certain lawsuits be filed only by holders of 3 percent of shares. In SpaceX, this corresponds to approximately $60 billion in shares.

Lipton stated: 'I think it won't be difficult for Musk to push through the deal from a corporate standpoint. He just needs to manage to push something through.'

What are the obstacles

Lipton pointed out that more serious risks relate to SpaceX's importance to the US government and Tesla's operations in China. SpaceX heavily relies on contracts with NASA and the Pentagon, and Musk has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in Republican campaigns. Analysts believe that if Democrats regain power in Washington, investigations into Musk's companies could resume, and SpaceX could eventually face difficulties securing government contracts. Musk cautioned Democrats against targeting him if they regain power.

He wrote on X, responding to a report on Democratic plans to investigate his activities if they win the midterms: 'Live by the sword, die by the sword.' Tesla's large manufacturing complex in China could also attract national security scrutiny. JPMorgan analysts proposed one option: isolating Tesla's Chinese business or transferring control of it to a consortium from China, similar to the agreement made for TikTok in the United States.
