UPSC announces results of the main civil services examination for 2026; interviews to be scheduled soon for qualified candidates

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) published the results of the 2026 Civil Services Main Examination on Thursday. Candidates who successfully passed this stage are now qualified to participate in the personal interview, although the dates for the interviews will be announced later.

The interviews will take place at the Commission's office located at Dhaulpur House on Shahjahan Road in New Delhi. Participants must bring original copies of their certificates.

The Commission stated that the main examination was conducted from August 21 to August 30. The civil services examination is conducted annually in three stages: the first is the preliminary examination, the second is the main examination, and the third is the interview.

It is through this procedure that employees are selected for services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and others.

During the interview, candidates must present their authentic documents, including certificates related to age, education, caste or community, as well as certificates for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Persons with Disabilities (PwBD). Additionally, all necessary paperwork, such as the TA form, must be carried.

The Commission emphasized that all documents should be prepared in advance for verification. For candidates claiming reservation or concessions under SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD, and veterans quotas, their certificates must have been issued before February 27, 2026, which coincided with the deadline for applying for the preliminary examination.

Written notifications will not be sent; instead, email invitations will be available on the websites upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in at the designated time. If there are any issues downloading the electronic invitation, candidates should immediately contact the Commission at phone numbers 011-40303444 and 24041001, send an email to csm-upsc@nic.in, or submit a formal application.

According to the Commission's information, requests to change the date or time of the interview are generally not considered. Candidates are advised to regularly check the websites for updates. The final result will be published after the interview, and the evaluation forms will be posted on the website within 15 days and remain accessible for 30 days.

The locations for the National High School Exam (Enem) of 2026 have been released, and participants can now access them. The information is available both on the registration confirmation card and on the candidate's specific page.

More about the confirmation card

After checking the confirmation card, candidates are advised to perform some important checks. It is advisable to research the exact address of the test location, assess the distance and time required for travel, and, if feasible, simulate the route on a Sunday, since traffic and public transport flow on those days differs.

The assessment dates are scheduled for two different days. On November 8th, 45 questions from languages (40 from Portuguese and 5 from English or Spanish), 45 questions from human sciences, and the essay will be administered.
