IRB Infra's profit grew by 85% to 260 crore rupees in the second quarter due to increased toll collection revenue

IRB Infrastructure Developers reported a significant increase in consolidated net profit for the September quarter of the 2027 fiscal year. Profit grew by 84.85 percent, reaching 260.15 crore rupees. This growth is attributed both to a steady increase in toll collection revenues and higher distributions from its Investment Trust (InvIT).

In regulatory filings, the company indicated that in the same period last year, net profit was 141 crore rupees. Total revenue for the second quarter of the current fiscal year increased to 18,970.8 crore rupees compared to 17,510.16 crore rupees the previous year.

Chairman and Managing Director Virendra D Mhaiskar noted that despite the slowdown in the global economy, supply chain fragmentation, and geopolitical instability, the company's results in the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year demonstrate exceptional structural resilience and the ability to withstand business cycles.

He added that thanks to stable revenue growth from toll collection at around 15% year-on-year, the company's operations continue to benefit from inelastic traffic demand and effective tariff linkage mechanisms. This is reflected in the constant growth of cash flows and, consequently, in the distributions from the InvIT.

The IRB Group owns a portfolio of 27 income-generating highways, with a total value of approximately 94,000 crore rupees, located in 13 states. Approximately 1.5 million vehicles pass through its assets daily, allowing the Group to account for nearly one-tenth of India's total road toll collections.

According to documents filed by the company with stock exchanges, Amagi's net profit for the second quarter (July-September) of fiscal year 27 amounted to 74.83 crore rupees. This figure significantly exceeds the 2.52 crore rupees recorded during the same period last fiscal year, demonstrating a growth of almost 29 times.

Revenue for the reporting quarter reached 475.82 crore rupees, compared to 374.76 crore rupees a year ago.

Baksar Subramanian, CEO of Amagi, highlighted three main areas for development: assisting clients in improving operational efficiency, reaching new audiences, and maximizing content revenue. He also predicts that artificial intelligence will play a significant role in all these areas.

According to the head, the company managed to scale its business by applying stricter operational discipline. The revenue growth in the second quarter was driven by the monetization and streaming aggregation segments, as well as the marketplace. During this period, Amagi released four new AI-based products covering live production, sports broadcasts, localization, and agency network operations.

The company specified that its ten largest clients accounted for 41% of the revenue in the second quarter of fiscal year 27, which is slightly different from 41.4% in the same period last year. For the first half of fiscal year 27, the share of these clients was 39.9%, slightly lower than the 40.2% recorded in the first half of fiscal year 26, indicating a stable customer concentration profile.

Amagi emphasized that these relationships are long-term, with an average duration of 5.3 years. The company noted that as clients adopt more Amagi products and expand their activities on the platform, the scale of these partnerships naturally increases.

Looking ahead to the remainder of fiscal year 27, Amagi reported that revenue in the first half of the year grew by 30% year-on-year, accompanied by an increase in EBITDA margin and improved cash conversion. In the letter to shareholders, Amagi stated that the company plans to invest selectively and with strict financial discipline in personnel, products, and technology. The ultimate goal is to conclude fiscal year 27 with sustainable year-on-year revenue growth, using operating leverage to ensure a clean reflection of adjusted EBITDA in improved cash conversion.

This growth compared to 1259 crore rupees in the quarter from July to September of fiscal year 26, and is attributed to increased interest income and improved asset quality.

The bank's total income for the reporting period increased by 13%, amounting to 10,428 crore rupees. IOB's interest income in Q2 FY27 rose by 17% to 9,201 crore rupees, compared to 7,851 crore rupees in the same period last year.

Srivastava added that write-offs remained under control at 240 crore rupees, and the provisioning ratio was only 0.07%, which is one of the lowest in the banking system, and the bank consistently maintains this figure.

The Non-Performing Asset (NPA) ratio decreased by 64 basis points (bps) year-on-year (Y-o-Y) to 1.19%, while the Net NPA ratio fell by 12 bps year-on-year to 0.16%. The volume of loans disbursed in Q2 FY27 reached 3.45 trillion rupees, showing a growth of 24.35% compared to 2.77 trillion rupees last year.

Srivastava stated that, according to preliminary estimates, IOB will require additional provisioning of about 2,600–2,800 crore rupees under Expected Credit Losses (ECL). He clarified that the bank has already created ECL provisions of about 2,700 crore rupees, meaning that 100% of the required amount is already secured in the balance sheet as projected ECL reserves.

Furthermore, he mentioned the successful performance of the gold loan portfolio and the development of several programs to meet the needs of various segments of society with competitive interest rates. Srivastava added that the jewelry loan portfolio is very sound, with outstanding loans amounting to nearly 1.36 trillion rupees, and shows no signs of stress. The bank maintains a Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratio of about 60–62%, which adequately accounts for price fluctuations.
