Prime Minister Modi met with Paralympic champions, acknowledging the achievements of Sheetal and Simran

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Indian athletes who won medals at the recently concluded Asian Para Games in Japan. During the event, he highly praised the efforts and achievements of the athletes, calling them a source of inspiration for the entire country.

India demonstrated its best performance in these competitions, which were held in Aichi-Nagoya. Indian para-athletes collectively won 114 medals, including 30 gold, 35 silver, and 49 bronze. 97 Indian para-athletes contributed to this success.

He continued that a decision was made not to let the talents of the country's youth perish. Modi emphasized that the system that hindered the progress of athletes will be changed, and now any young person who believes in their abilities can be confident in the country's support.

The Prime Minister noted that India is also strengthening its position in sports where its participation was previously limited. He added that a search for new talents is currently underway, and new champions are emerging in disciplines such as shooting, athletics, biathlon, swimming, table tennis, badminton, judo, and powerlifting. Furthermore, 61 athletes participated in the Asian Para Games for the first time.
