Toyota launches new Innova Hycross with several advanced features

Toyota is set to introduce its new Innova Hycross in the Indian market soon, and the company has also set a launch date for it. However, this vehicle was launched in Indonesia before India, where Toyota sells it under the name Kijang Innova Genix. Several changes have been made to this MPV that might also be seen in the versions coming to India.

The hybrid version of this car is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, while the V Hybrid grade features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. In Indonesia, the price of this car is set at 47.54 million Indonesian Rupiah (which is approximately equivalent to 2.487 lakh rupees). The V Hybrid variant is priced at 51.7 million IDR.

The most significant change in the car has been made to the interior. The non-hybrid version comes with a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, but it also includes a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, which comes with in-car Wi-Fi support. This car is available with a 360-degree camera in Indonesia.

Regarding other features, the company has added electric adjustable driver seats, dual-channel dashcams, power folding ORVMs, and updated telematics. Conversely, the company has removed some features such as an entertainment system and wireless charger on the rear seat.

In terms of exterior design, the car features an attractive front splitter, side body cladding, and side steps. There has been no change to the car's engine; it has a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine like before, which works with a self-charging hybrid system.

This car now uses a nickel-based lithium-ion battery, and it is possible that the car may arrive in India with these same features. There is also discussion about the car's flex-fuel version, which Toyota might launch on November 26th. In India, this car could come with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system, along with the in-car Wi-Fi, dashcam, and other features present in the Indonesian version.

Toyota to unveil updated Innova Hycross Facelift on November 26

November promises to be a month of significant automotive premieres, including the launch of a new brand in India. Furthermore, Toyota plans to introduce an updated version of the popular vehicle—the Toyota Innova Hycross facelift.

This update is expected to feature a hybrid transmission powertrain and a redesigned exterior. Toyota has announced the launch of this model for November 26. The update will affect both the front body and the interior of the car.

Previously, Toyota showcased a prototype of the Innova Hycross based on a smooth hybrid transmission system utilizing Flex Fuel. This prototype is equipped with a modified 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that operates with electric assistance. The vehicle is capable of running on E85 gasoline, which is a good option for those concerned about future fuel sources.

The displayed prototype utilized updated spark plugs and piston rings. Additionally, an ethanol sensor, a modernized fuel pump and filter were integrated, and materials compatible with ethanol were used in the fuel tank.

Some secretly taken photos of the car indicate major changes to the front end. The updated design may feature slimmer headlights, and the company might also provide a new grille design, giving the Hycross a fresh look. The company aims to give the Hycross a look similar to an SUV rather than an MPV.

No changes are expected to the side body panels; the overall silhouette will remain the same. However, new wheels might appear. Major differences in the rear bumper and taillights are also not predicted. The updated Innova Hycross can be expected to have a new interior.

The company may equip the vehicle with a raised center console, an automatic gear selector, and adjustment controls located on the door panels, while maintaining a dashboard design similar to the previous version. Toyota will also add an improved screen and new trim and upholstery elements to this model. The price of the current Innova Hycross model starts from 19.53 lakh rupees.
