Transgender actress Shubi Sharma protests industry employee's behavior

Transgender actress Shubi Sharma, known to viewers from series such as 'Anupama,' 'Chand Jalne Laga,' 'Dhruv Tara,' 'Saath Nibhana Saathiya,' and 'Aaina,' shared her experience working in the industry.

Shubi Sharma is not limited to acting; she frequently advocates for the interests of the transgender community. In a recent interview with Turning Tales, she openly discussed her journey, including the rejections and casting difficulties she has faced.

The actress reported that she was offered participation in the show 'Bigg Boss' for three consecutive years, and the coordination process with producers was underway. However, she decided to highlight an important issue regarding the conduct of one employee.

Shubi recounted contacting a young man from the Banijay Productions team, who is allegedly a creative assistant, to express her interest in participating in 'Bigg Boss Marathi' and 'Rise and Fall.' Initially, he agreed to pass on the information but then began ignoring her, claiming he received messages from thousands of people and did not know whom to respond to.

When he insisted that she communicate with him professionally, this same person would write to her late at night on Instagram, sending greetings. After she ignored these messages, he wrote again. Shubi took a screenshot of this message and stated that she wants to convey to this person that she is not like other transgender individuals willing to engage in a 'one night stand.'

She emphasized that she will not compromise, even if roles in the shows are not offered to her, noting that similar behavior has been displayed by several other individuals. Shubi called for changes in the industry, demanding that transgender actors be given lead roles and that male actors not be given roles intended for transgender performers.
