The government of Uttar Pradesh has promoted 285 employees of the revenue department before the festival of Diwali. Among them are 206 workers who held the position of Lekhpal and 79 workers who held the position of Sangrah Amin, who have now become income inspectors.
This decision was made based on the work and qualification compliance of these employees. The Chairman of the Revenue Council, B.L. Mina, announced this information. For employees who had been waiting for a promotion for a long time, this was a significant relief.
This promotion included two types of employees. 206 Lekhpals were promoted to income inspectors. Additionally, 79 Sangrah Amin were also appointed as income inspectors. Thus, the total number of promoted employees was 285. These employees met the established criteria for advancement and had been waiting for it for a long time.
A Lekhpal can be described as an employee responsible for state records related to villages and land, in simple terms. They handle issues such as village land ownership, crop status, and any changes in state land records. In turn, the work of a Sangrah Amin is related to the recovery of state debts and revenue collection. For example, a Sangrah Amin participates in the process of recovering funds from an individual or legal entity if they have a debt to the state. Now, 285 employees working in these positions have been promoted to income inspectors, which will also entail a change in their designation and responsibilities.
A promotion in any government structure is not limited to just changing an employee's position; it also expands the scope of responsibility and the volume of work. The Revenue Council believes that this decision will boost employee morale and help strengthen the department's work. Workers who had been waiting for a promotion for a long time will get an opportunity for career growth. This decision, received shortly before Diwali, added another joy to the homes of 285 revenue department employees, giving them a reason to celebrate the promotion amidst preparations for the festival.
