Toyota has confirmed the release date for its new Innova Hycross model, scheduling the launch for November 25th. Although the company has not provided many details about the car, Minister of Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari shared important information regarding this vehicle.
Earlier this week, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that the Toyota Innova Hycross Flex Fuel would be introduced in November of this year. Speaking at the ENRich 2026 Energy Conference, he stated: 'This month I am going to launch the Toyota Innova with Flex Fuel, which will run on 100 percent ethanol.'
Although the Toyota Innova Hycross Flex Fuel may be new to the market, the technology itself is not new. Toyota presented a prototype of the Innova Hycross Flex Fuel in 2023. This prototype is equipped with a gasoline engine modified to run on ethanol, as well as a hybrid powertrain system.
At that time, Toyota indicated that the vehicle would require testing and certification before launch. Since the Flex Fuel engine consumes more fuel compared to gasoline, installing an electric motor and battery pack will help the car function better, thereby reducing ethanol consumption.
Despite public debate surrounding E20 fuel, the government continues to emphasize vehicles running on E100 fuel. Some companies have already released their models with Flex Fuel.
As for the newest Innova Hycross, it has been seen multiple times during trials. Recently, the company presented this vehicle in Indonesia. The version may feature changed bumpers, updated taillights, and new wheels.
Inside the cabin, the vehicle may be equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital driver display. However, the large display will only be available in the hybrid version; the gasoline version may have a 7-inch display installed by the company.
