GIFT Nifty растет на 300 пунктов на фоне падения цен на нефть Brent ниже 100 долларов; Kospi снижается на 4%

The GIFT Nifty showed signs of a gap-up opening for the Nifty50 index, driven by the slump in oil prices. This movement occurred amid mixed trading across Asian markets, where investors shifted away from semiconductor stocks.

On November 5, 2026, the GIFT Nifty futures increased by 342 points, reaching 24,311. This surge was linked to falling oil prices and increased speculation regarding a quicker conclusion to the West-Asia conflict following the victory of the Democrats in the US midterm elections.

In the Asia-Pacific region, trading was varied, as participants withdrew capital from technology shares and redirected it towards the consumer and financial sectors. Specifically, Japan's Nikkei 225 and KOSPI experienced declines of 0.39 per cent and 3.6 per cent, respectively.

Meanwhile, overnight performance in the US saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average rise by 3.03 per cent. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite also closed higher, increasing by 1.58 per cent and 1.44 per cent, respectively.

Brent crude oil traded significantly under the $100 mark after dropping 8 per cent in the preceding session. The Democrats' decisive win in the US midterm election intensified expectations for a resolution in the West-Asia conflict. January futures contracts for Brent crude were priced at $93 per barrel on the Intercontinental Exchange, marking a decrease of 1.04 per cent.

As energy costs decreased, concerns about inflation lessened, which in turn reduced expectations for aggressive monetary tightening in the United States. Consequently, gold and silver futures gained 1.7 per cent and 1.9 per cent, respectively.

Later updates confirmed that the GIFT Nifty was quoted at 24,284, an increase of 300 points. Furthermore, Brent crude continued to trade below $100, having fallen 8 per cent previously, with January futures at $93 per barrel on the Intercontinental Exchange, down 1.04 per cent.
