The Enough Phone emerges as an Android smartphone project aimed at users who crave smaller devices, reminiscent of phone designs from about fifteen years ago. This compact device aims to restore the simplicity that the Android system once offered, and is available for US$ 399 (equivalent to R$ 2,180 at the direct exchange rate).
The philosophy of the Enough Phone is to be straightforward, starting with the screen. It features a 5.3-inch LCD panel, displaying a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. Its reduced size makes it quite compact, measuring 132.8 x 63.8 x 12 mm, bringing it close to the dimensions of an iPhone 13 Mini.
The project's creators, Austin Boer, Brennan Jordan, and William Stults, justify this approach by stating that traditional manufacturers have stopped producing compact phones. Although they acknowledge that most people prefer larger screens, the trio believes there is a niche of users who value smaller options.
On the back, the device features a single camera equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor. Below the lens, screws are visible, indicating that the Enough Phone has a removable battery, allowing the user to replace it when necessary.
Internally, the phone is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chip, complemented by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The main operating system is Android 17 in its 'pure' version.
As an alternative to pure Android, the user can opt for an OdysseyOS implementation, a simplified Android developed by Sleke. This system offers an experience similar to a basic phone, while Sleke sells refurbished Google Pixel phones with OdysseyOS for those seeking more intuitive or simple functionalities.
Other important details include the fact that the Enough Phone is currently a crowdfunding project on Kickstarter, where early backers can acquire it for the initial price of US$ 399. The article's author considers this price slightly high for the current hardware, predicting that after the official launch, expected after May 2027 (the scheduled delivery date), the price will rise to US$ 599. Despite this, the device could be an attractive choice for those looking for a compact and functional Android smartphone.
