Samsung launches One UI 9 for more smartphones in Brazil, based on Android 17

Samsung is implementing the update to Android 17, bringing the One UI 9 interface to a wider range of its mobile devices in Brazil. The Galaxy A07 4G, Galaxy A16 (in its 4G and 5G versions), Galaxy A35, Galaxy M35, and Galaxy M54 were the first models to receive this new interface.

The Galaxy A07 5G initiated the update process, with Samsung making the update available for Brazilian models the previous week, specifically last Wednesday, October 28th, as detailed in the update's change log. On the following day, October 29th, the Galaxy A16 5G also received the new feature.

Subsequently, the A16 4G, A17 4G, M35, and A35 devices began updating on the previous day, November 3rd. Although the change log for the M54 does not yet mention the new feature, this device already has the latest version. It is important to note that this will be the last Android update for the M54, after which it should only receive security patches and perhaps One UI 9.5.

This new batch of devices receiving One UI 9 also includes other 5G variants of the A07 and A17 models, as well as other eligible models, such as all tablets prior to the Tab S12 series and the Galaxy S23 FE, which are expected to be covered in the coming days and weeks.

According to Samsung's official description, One UI 9 aims to integrate Galaxy AI into the user's daily life, offering more intuitive and useful artificial intelligence functionalities. Users will be able to take advantage of new ways to simplify tasks, create content, and stay connected through AI functions adapted to Galaxy usage.

This version of One UI is built on Android 17, the latest version released by Google. Among the software enhancements, the Now Brief and New Nudge stand out, becoming smarter by utilizing information captured directly on the user's phone. Another recently introduced feature is the My FanCam application, which has the ability to analyze videos and generate clips focused on specific individuals, having been initially presented with the 2026 foldable phone lineup.

Because they are entry-level and mid-range models, the updated devices may not have access to all the features introduced in One UI 9, unlike models belonging to the Z and S lines.

Selection of Samsung Galaxy A series smartphones on sale at Amazon

Samsung remains a highly sought-after brand in the smartphone market, offering a good balance between cost and benefit. For those looking for a new phone, three options from the Galaxy A line that are currently available on Amazon have been selected, featuring considerable storage, competent cameras, and large screens.

The Galaxy A17 model was launched with 256GB of internal memory and 8GB of RAM, ensuring ample space and good performance for daily use. Its 50MP main camera captures quality images under various lighting conditions, and the 6.7-inch screen provides an immersive experience for both gaming and watching videos. Furthermore, it has an IP54 certification, providing resistance against dust and splashes, which is a positive point for those who value durability.

The Samsung Galaxy A07, on the other hand, presents a more straightforward configuration: a large 6.7-inch screen, a 50MP main camera, and 128GB of storage, allowing for unrestricted storage of photos, music, and applications. With 4GB of RAM, it is suitable for everyday tasks such as social media, streaming, and communication, representing an accessible alternative within the Samsung ecosystem.

There is also another listing for the Samsung Galaxy A07 on Amazon, with exactly the same specifications: 128GB of storage, 4GB of RAM, 50MP camera, and a 6.7-inch screen. This second option serves as an alternative if the first model is sold out or if there are differences in shipping costs for the consumer's region.

It is important to note that stock on Amazon is variable, and promotional conditions may change at any time. It is recommended to access the links to check availability immediately before the offers end.

The distribution in Brazil for the Galaxy A55 occurred approximately one week after the release of One UI 9 for this same model in South Korea. To date, Samsung has not released a detailed changelog for this version.

The manufacturer began officially distributing One UI 9 in September, initially on the newest devices, such as the Galaxy S26 line, and has progressively extended the system to older generations and mid-range models.

One UI 9 introduces visual modifications, performance optimizations, and new Galaxy AI features. Among the highlights mentioned by Samsung are Now Nudge, which provides suggestions based on the content displayed on the screen, and a more customizable version of Now Brief.

Additionally, the Smart Photo feature has been enhanced to assist in image editing. However, Samsung clarifies that the accessibility of these functionalities depends on the specific model, language, and region of the user.

Samsung expands distribution of One UI 9 to Galaxy A36 and other devices in Brazil

Samsung increased the availability of One UI 9 on its smartphones in Brazil this week. The Galaxy A36, along with the Galaxy A27 and fifth-generation foldables, began receiving the update on Tuesday, October 20, according to change logs published by the manufacturer.

Additionally, the Galaxy A56 also started receiving the new system, apparently on Thursday, October 22, although Samsung has not officially confirmed this. One UI 9 is based on Android 17 and has been progressively distributed across the country since September.

With this new update cycle, the range of eligible Galaxy Z line models has been fully covered in Brazil. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 received One UI 9, which represents their last major system update, as predicted by Samsung itself. Other updated devices include the Galaxy S26, S26, and S24 series, part of the S23 line, sixth and seventh-generation foldables, and the Galaxy A57.

Furthermore, One UI 9 already comes pre-installed on the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Flip 8, Galaxy S26 FE, and Galaxy Tab S12. In the S line, the Galaxy S23 FE is still awaiting the update, while the Galaxy A37 is pointed out as the next mid-range device in the queue for reception.
