Audi Quattro receives reimagining based on RS4 and powerful V8 engine

The iconic Audi Quattro, known for popularizing all-wheel drive in both tracks and rally competitions during the 1980s, has been reformulated with a V8 engine capable of generating up to 760 horsepower.

This new project, named Audacious IV, is developed by Audacious Automotive, a Scottish company planning to manufacture a total of 50 units. The estimated initial cost for acquisition is approximately R$ 2.58 million (equivalent to 350 thousand pounds), excluding taxes and accessories.

It is a restomod, a type of classic vehicle that is mechanically modernized while maintaining its original appearance. Although it preserves the square silhouette of the original model, it replaces the five-cylinder engine and the entire mechanical assembly.

The structure of the Audacious IV uses the chassis of the B7 generation Audi RS4, produced between 2006 and 2008. From this base, the car inherits components such as the chassis, suspension, brakes, and part of the electrical system.

Aesthetically, the vehicle features wheel arch flares and large exhaust outlets reminiscent of Group B cars, famous for their extreme models in the 80s World Rally Championship. The customer has the option to choose between a body built from steel and aluminum, incorporating parts from an original Quattro, or a body made entirely of carbon fiber; 40 of the 50 units will be in carbon.

In the interior, the RS4 panels are replaced by analog gauges and physical buttons.

Under the hood, there is the RS4's 4.2L V8 engine, coupled with the Torsen all-wheel-drive system and a six-speed manual gearbox. The entry version comes with a compressor and delivers 608 hp. The second version, which also has a compressor, receives internal reinforcements and an improved cooling system to reach 760 hp.

Two other configurations, still under development with the tuner LAA Performance, a specialist in Audi engines, can spin up to 10,000 revolutions per minute. One of these options is naturally aspirated, and the other is turbocharged.

According to the company, the car can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed close to 320 km/h. The carbon version should weigh 1,200 kg, while the metal version weighs between 1,400 kg and 1,450 kg.

Each unit is assembled manually, and the manufacturing process takes about three years. The first deliveries are scheduled for the end of 2027.

Porsche launches special edition 911 GT3 Touring Earls Court 51 for the UK

Porsche has launched the 911 GT3 Touring Earls Court 51 Edition, a special series created to celebrate the brand's 75th anniversary in the United Kingdom. This exclusive model will have only 51 units available for purchase in the country.

This tribute refers to October 1951, the date when the first Porsche 356 models (both coupe and convertible) were presented at the London Motor Show held in Earls Court.

Since that event, the UK has established itself as the fourth largest global market for the German manufacturer, currently having 49 dealerships and workshops.

The development of this vehicle was conducted by the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur customization department. The model is based on the GT3 with the Touring Package, characterized by the absence of a fixed rear wing, giving it a more discreet look.

The mechanical specifications remain unchanged: it features a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine, generating 510 hp and 45.9 kgfm, coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox (although the automated PDK is offered as a complimentary option) and rear-wheel drive.

One of the aesthetic highlights is the exclusive paintwork, named Earls Court Green, a metallic green shade that evokes the 356 displayed in 1951. Inside, the car features seats combining green and beige leather with corduroy velvet, along with wood details applied to the dashboard and gear lever, and includes an addition of a rear seat.

On the doors, there is an embossed silhouette of the 356, accompanied by the inscription 'drive in its purest form,' taken from the original model's advertising.

The starting price of the vehicle begins at £251,951 (approximately R$ 1.68 million), which is about £100,000 higher than the price of a standard 911 GT3 Touring in the UK. For comparison, the GT3 Touring in Brazil has a starting price of R$ 1.62 million.

Each buyer of the special series will also receive a Porsche Design chronograph, a leather travel bag, and a miniature replica of the car itself.

In addition to the limited series, Porsche announced investment plans in the country, including the expansion of stores located in Guildford and Bristol, the creation of a new parts depot in Didcot, and the launch of a training program for 200 apprentices, based in Reading.

BMW F 450 RR, considered a miniature of the S 1000 RR, has 48 hp and costs around R$ 42 thousand

BMW Motorrad has launched the F 450 RR, a reduced version of the superbike S 1000 RR. This model was presented in Europe as the new entry option for the RR line, which encompasses the brand's faired sport motorcycles.

In Germany, the starting price for the motorcycle is approximately R$ 42 thousand, which corresponds to 7,250 euros. The F 450 RR is equipped with a 420cc twin-cylinder engine, derived from the F 450 GS engine, generating 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and 4.4 kgfm at 6,750 rpm. The manufacturer states that 80% of this torque is available from 3,000 rpm, and it features a six-speed gearbox.

The power has been specifically calibrated to meet the A2 category of the European license, which imposes a limit of 35 kW (equivalent to 48 hp) for novice riders.

Structurally, the unit is built on a steel tubular chassis and weighs 177 kg ready to ride. According to BMW, it can reach 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 177 km/h.

The fairing aesthetics reflect the characteristic design of the RR line, featuring a low front section, high rear, and side winglets for aerodynamics. The LED headlight replicates the lighting signature of larger BMW motorcycles, and the side air intakes have an asymmetrical design.

As standard equipment, the F 450 RR comes with a 6.5-inch TFT display with connectivity, electronic throttle, and three riding modes: Rain, Road, and Race. The front braking system uses a 310mm disc and a four-piston Brembo monobloc caliper, in addition to ABS Pro, which operates even during curves.

In Europe, the bike is available in four distinct configurations, offering visual and equipment packages adapted for both road use and track use. The more expensive versions may include the Easy Ride Clutch, an automated clutch system that eliminates the need to use the lever to start or stop the vehicle.

Currently, the 450 family has not yet been introduced to the Brazilian market. Although BMW has confirmed its intention to commercialize the F 450 GS in the country, no date or price has been disclosed. If it arrives, the RR will compete against models such as the Yamaha R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 500.

Volkswagen Polo Track 2027 will cost R$ 97,990 and will come with rear parking sensors

The entry-level version of the Volkswagen Polo, known as Polo Track, has had a price adjustment for the 2027 line, becoming R$ 1,300 more expensive. The hatchback is now sold for R$ 97,990 and, as part of this update, comes standard with rear parking sensors, whereas previously its price was R$ 96,690.

A significant addition to the model is the optional VW Play + Alarm package, which costs R$ 2,660. With this package, the price rises to R$ 100,650 in the solid Black Ninja color, and it incorporates electric windows on all four doors, all operable with a one-touch function.

This same optional package also includes power-adjustable rearview mirrors, a VW Play multimedia system with a 10-inch screen that supports wireless connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, in addition to a key-activated alarm.

If the buyer does not opt for the additional package, the Polo Track retains only front electric windows, along with air conditioning, four airbags (distributed between two front and two side airbags), stability control, hill start assist, and a trip computer.

In terms of basic equipment, the vehicle has a simple sound system equipped with a monochrome screen, Bluetooth, and USB-C ports. Externally, it features halogen headlights and daytime running lights, in addition to 15-inch steel wheels with dark hubcaps and 185/65 tires.

The mechanics remain unchanged: under the hood, there is the 1.0 naturally aspirated flex engine, which generates 84 hp and 10.3 kgfm when fueled with ethanol (and 77 hp and 9.6 kgfm with gasoline), and uses a five-speed manual transmission. According to Volkswagen, the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h with gasoline is 13.8 seconds.

Considering all its configurations, the Volkswagen Polo was the best-selling car in September, registering 11,095 registrations, according to data provided by the National Federation of Automotive Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave).
