On November 4, Tashkent residents began posting photos and videos on social media demonstrating the arrival of brownish hot water into their homes. The company Veolia Energy Tashkent provided an explanation for this phenomenon, linking it to preparations for the upcoming heating season.
According to the company's information, this situation potentially affects residents of the Mirzo-Ulugbek district, specifically the Karasu, Feruza, and Yalangach areas. Veolia specialists are currently adjusting the water circulation process in the main networks.
The cause of the water color change is the flushing of natural deposits that accumulated during the summer period, due to changes in pressure and water movement along the pipe walls. This may lead to a temporary change in the color of the hot water and the appearance of an unpleasant odor.
Currently, Veolia crews are carrying out work to remove stagnant water at key nodes of the main networks, as well as flushing individual segments of the pipelines.
Residents facing this issue were advised not to drain the cloudy water themselves or interfere with the functioning of meters. Instead, they should send precise location data—including the district, area, and house number—through the company's dedicated Telegram bot. Upon receiving the request, dispatchers will arrange for specialists to visit and flush the required section of the external network.
Veolia apologized for the temporary inconvenience and assured that steps are being taken to promptly restore the normal operation of the system.
