During the opening ceremony of the World Internet Conference in Uzhzhen, representatives of foreign delegations and digital leaders exchanged views on algorithm transparency, open development, and comprehensive digital governance.
Jolanda Diaz Perez, Deputy Prime Minister of Spain and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, reported that Spain has implemented regulations requiring the disclosure of delivery platform algorithms to protect the rights of these platform workers.
She emphasized that China and Spain share similar views: algorithms should serve people, help reduce inequality, and not become an opaque power controlled solely by corporate executives.
Nii Kuaynor, Chairman of Network Computer Systems Ghana and member of the Internet Hall of Fame, stated that true openness implies the existence of open documentation, open standards, and meaningful participation from all stakeholders.
He added that an open cyberspace should allow communities worldwide to access, understand, and shape digital technologies, as well as benefit from them.
John Hoffman, Chairman of GSMA, noted that the Uzhzhen Summit is an important global platform for promoting an open and inclusive internet for all.
According to him, mobile communication and advanced artificial intelligence must work together to bridge the digital divide and ensure that no community is left behind in the process of digital transformation.
