Uzbekistan Football Association denies reports of Cannavaro's departure

The Uzbekistan Football Association has officially denied rumors about Fabio Cannavaro potentially leaving his position as head coach of the national team following the postponement of the AFC Asian Cup 2027.

Several foreign media outlets reported in recent hours that the Italian coach might consider stepping down from the team due to the change in tournament dates. However, the Uzbekistan Football Association stated that these reports are unsubstantiated.

The Association strongly urged media representatives and football fans not to accept unconfirmed information, but rather to follow only official statements.

These rumors surfaced after the publication by renowned football journalist and transfer insider Fabrizio Romano on the social network X. He wrote that Cannavaro might consider leaving the position of head coach of Uzbekistan after the decision to postpone the Asian Cup.
