When visiting mountainous regions, visitors often encounter kiosks selling Maggi and tea, as enjoying food in the mountains has a special appeal. These sales points can be found in almost any location or on untrodden routes.
However, few people know how much income the owners of these small stalls, which usually consist of one table and five to seven chairs, generate. Even in the low season, they are able to make a significant profit. A video shared on social media has gone viral, in which one person shares information about their revenue.
This viral clip tells the story of a Maggi seller in Rohanteg Pass in the state of Himachal. In the video, one person stated that this stall is located in the middle of the snow and that the seller earns a good income. Harsh Chauhan, as he called him in the video, asked the owner about his earnings. The answer was that it is currently off-season, and the earnings during this time are not high. Nevertheless, Harsh asked about the income outside of the season, after which the seller disclosed his financial figures.
The content creator stated that the Maggi seller reported selling between 60 to 70 plates of Maggi and about 200 cups of tea. Additionally, eggs and other products are sold. It was also noted that the price of Maggi is 100, and tea is 40. After this, Harsh calculated: if 60-70 plates of Maggi and 200 cups are sold, it brings in 8000 rupees from tea and 6000 rupees from Maggi. Thus, the monthly turnover reaches 500 thousand rupees.
Based on this data, content creators speculate on what income the business might generate in the high season. After the video became popular, users started leaving comments. Some noted that setting up the stall in such a place is not easy, and delivering goods there is very difficult. Others point out the expenses, while a third praises the Maggi business itself.
