TVS Motor Company, the world's third-largest two-wheeler manufacturer, unveiled four production-ready models at the EICMA 2026 exhibition in Milan on Tuesday. This move reinforces the company's commitment to the European market, which is viewed as strategically important.
This initiative is part of the company's overall strategy to increase the share of international business in total revenue, which could potentially reach 30 percent or more by 2030. The four presented models—TVS Orbiter, TVS M1-S, TVS X, and TVS RTR 125—reflect TVS Motor's approach to meeting Europe's evolving mobility needs, including electric city commuting, premium urban transport, and light sport motorcycles.
The exhibition showcased products specifically designed for European consumers, relying on specialized engineering capabilities, an expanding retail network, and the strengths of TVS Motor's global ecosystem of manufacturing, technology, and product development. This demonstrates the company's ability to combine market-specific product development with global engineering expertise and manufacturing excellence.
Europe is becoming increasingly significant for TVS Motor's international business as the company continues to strengthen its presence in developed markets. Building on years of manufacturing experience, advanced technological capabilities, and growing international engineering presence, TVS Motor is laying the foundation for sustainable long-term success in the region.
Forecasts and Strategy
Peyman Kargar, President of International Business at TVS Motor Company, stated that Europe represents a vital market for TVS Motor and a key part of its international growth plans. He noted significant opportunities in electric mobility, high-performance motorcycles, and premium urban transport. However, he emphasized that success in these markets requires not only a competitive product but also a deep understanding of customer needs, strong local execution, and a reliable distribution and service network.
Over the past year, the company has focused on strengthening its distribution base, developing dealer and service center capabilities, and preparing a portfolio that meets the needs of European riders. Continuing to solidify its position in Europe, the company's focus is on expanding customer access to the TVS brand, deepening customer engagement, and providing products that combine quality, technology, and customer experience.
Peyman Kargar, who has over thirty years of international automotive industry leadership experience, was appointed Director and CEO of TVS Motor Company on January 27, 2027, succeeding K N Radhakrishnan.
TVS Motor's approach to Europe is built on three priorities: developing products that meet the needs of local customers and European riding conditions; establishing robust distribution and after-sales service capabilities; and leveraging its international engineering and design ecosystem to compete in technologically advanced markets.
The company has steadily expanded its retail network, starting in Italy, then expanding into Spain and Portugal, with further plans for development in France and Germany. The Italian network now boasts over 100 retail outlets, supported by positive sales momentum. Sales in Italy increased by 110 percent over the last year, while 22 retail outlets are operational in Spain and Portugal.
This expansion demonstrates TVS Motor's commitment to building a sustainable business that goes beyond initial product launches. The company continues to invest in market development, dealer capabilities, and after-sales support to ensure strong customer relationships and build trust and long-term interest in the brand in European markets.
The four models presented at EICMA 2026 are designed to cater to various customer segments. The electric range covers daily city commutes, more versatile urban transport, and premium connected mobility, while the TVS RTR 125 expands the company's offering of sport motorcycles for young and novice riders.
TVS Motor's experience in electric mobility forms the basis for this expansion. With over one million electric scooters sold globally and investments exceeding $1 billion in EV and battery ecosystems, the company applies its expertise in EV engineering, software integration, and manufacturing to products designed for international markets.
