It has not been established in Tashkent what exactly caused the illness of Kazakh footballers and their accompanying persons who are hospitalized. Sabina Sadinova, press secretary of the Food Safety Committee, reported to Sputnik Uzbekistan that the cause of the malaise among the young Kazakh footballers and their escorts has not yet been determined.
According to Sadinova, the exact reasons for the incident will become known after laboratory tests are conducted. She emphasized that the patients' condition is stable, and there are no severe cases; treatment is being carried out in accordance with approved clinical protocols and standards.
Earlier, it was reported that children and adults who arrived from Karaganda, Kazakhstan, to participate in the international football festival 'Do‘stlik Cup 2026' in Tashkent were hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning.
According to information from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan, a total of 19 people sought medical attention. Of these, 17 people, including 11 children and 6 adults, were taken to the 5th City Clinical Hospital of Tashkent for infectious disease treatment.
Witnesses previously pointed to the deterioration of patients' condition after breakfast at the hotel, and those who did not consume eggs did not fall ill. However, it has not been confirmed at this time that eggs or any other factor were the cause of the illness.
The situation is under the control of the Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, Akmaral Alnazarov, and the First Deputy Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Otabek Imomov. Relevant specialists have been involved in the treatment process.
