In anticipation of the Diwali festival, the FDA agency once again heightened vigilance, paying special attention to the cleanliness and quality of food products in Pune. Due to the start of mass sales of traditional sweets and snacks (faral), FDA Commissioner Tukaram Munde personally took control of the situation.
Tukaram Munde inaugurated the annual 'The Pune Merchant Chambers' initiative for the sale of laddu and chivrada. Immediately after the opening ceremony, he began inspecting samples of faral. He personally examined the laddu, dividing it by hand to determine the amount of oil used, as well as checking for the use of any harmful or counterfeit dyes.
'The Pune Merchant Chamber' annually organizes the sale of these festive treats as part of social assistance and consumer protection, following the principle of 'no profit and no loss'. This year, the organization prepared about two hundred thousand kilograms of delicious items such as laddu and chivrada. These products are distributed not only in Pune but also in several neighboring districts for the population.
Tukaram Munde highly praised this charitable initiative, noting that providing quality goods at reasonable prices during festivals is an excellent measure. Furthermore, he commended the leaders and members of the organization for adhering to all hygiene standards and safety regulations established by the FDA.
