The school administration in Phoenix has increased security measures regarding a 15-year-old student after he allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened to strike his teacher when she began discussing his appearance and behavior.
According to Prem Baram, head of the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), RUSA personnel were called to the school after the student responded to the teacher with vulgar language and insisted that he was feeling unwell and wanted to take the exam in an office rather than in the examination hall on Monday morning.
Baram reported that the student threatened to strike the female teacher while carrying a black knife. The incident occurred while the student was taking an exam, and it is reported that school examination procedures prevented his immediate removal from the classroom.
Baram added that responding officers assessed the situation while awaiting further intervention measures. This event remains developing news.
