Soweto Fashion Week presents Spring/Summer 2026 collection in Jabulani, Soweto

Following the autumn/winter collection show, Soweto Fashion Week resumes its activities by presenting the Spring/Summer 2026 season. The event is scheduled for November 5 to 7, 2026, in the Jabulani area of Soweto.

The Spring/Summer season features a distinct mood: palettes become more open, designers focus on movement, print, and color, making references brighter and more vibrant. This season recalls the original essence of fashion.

SS2026 takes place during a period when South African fashion is gaining international recognition, and demand for local creativity has reached an unprecedented level. SFW SS2026 will bring together both emerging and established designers from across the country to showcase the unique identity of South African fashion.

The first evening will be an opportunity to see the faces shaping the future of South African design. Nine young designers will walk the runway, including RFL Studios, Zimisele, and Shirley Joseph, as well as students from the University of Johannesburg and Tshwane University of Technology.

The second day will be dedicated to the Mbobo Movement show, a brand featuring sequins and denim by Lutando Mbobo. He returns to the SFW runway this season after debuting in the emerging designers block of AW2026. His promotion to the main show is one of the key stories of the season. Lutando Mbobo stated: 'Every season is a chance to grow, but this one feels different. Since the last show, Mbobo Movement received a nomination for Best Emerging Designer at the South African Fashion Awards, and we took the brand into children's wear at SA Kids Fashion Week. A lot has happened. In the spring, we are bringing all of this to the main stage. Expect bold colors, a true celebration of who we are as South Africans, and a collection that carries tangible stories.'

Additionally, Precious Lulu Couture, KwaZulu Fashion Hut, Originally Kasified, and other brands will be presented that evening.

The final evening of the season will merge fashion and art. Television presenter Ayanda Nhlapo will present her brand House of Ayanda on the runway. Afro-soul and R&B singer Wanda Baloyi will showcase Wanda Wear by Wanda Baloyi. Hoss by Sass by Sanele Thabethe, Dope Store, and others will also feature in the final evening.

Over the three days, the Soweto Theatre runway will tell a story that is uniquely South African. Each collection, from the first evening to the final show, adds a voice to the discussion about the direction and significance of local design. Tickets are available on Webtickets, with prices starting from 150 rand.

Autumn holiday dates for schoolchildren in Uzbekistan set

In general education schools in Uzbekistan, the autumn holidays are scheduled from November 4 to November 9 inclusive.

After the holidays, students will return to classes in the second quarter, and the educational process will officially resume on November 10.

Furthermore, the problem of providing students with educational materials persists in Tashkent. It was noted that some schools have not yet provided all necessary textbooks, forcing parents to print materials themselves and teachers to send book pages to parent chats. This situation is most acute in classes where instruction is conducted in Russian.
