Australian squad undergoes significant changes ahead of series against England

Cricket Australia (CA) has announced the squads for the upcoming series against England in ODI and T20 formats. Australian selectors have decided to give chances to young players while resting several senior athletes.

Three matches are scheduled between the two teams in the ODI format and five matches in the T20 format, starting on November 13th.

Fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood have been excluded from the white-ball series. They were rested considering the upcoming Test Championship matches, as Australia is set to play very important Test series against New Zealand and India in the coming months.

Fast bowler Nathan Ellis will also not participate in the ODI series due to a groin strain injury.

The 14-man squad for the ODI includes former U-19 World Cup star Mali Birdman and Oliver Pick. Young all-rounders Jack Edwards and Liam Scott were also included in the squad.

In the T20 squad, young players of Indian descent such as Nikhil Choudhary, Joel Davis, Lachlan Shaw, and Sam Harper have been given an opportunity to feature. Furthermore, Jake Fraser-McGork and Mitchell Owen have returned to the T20 squad.

Travis Head, Matthew Renshaw, Cameron Green, Alex Carey, Josh Inglis, and Cooper Connolly will not play in T20s after the ODI matches. This gives many young Australian players a great chance to showcase their talent in the short format against England.

Ahead of the series of matches: Yashwish Kaisaval again failed to perform in the game against New Zealand

The poor form of India's opening batsman, Yashwish Kaisaval, is causing concern among the entire Indian squad ahead of the start of the test series against New Zealand. On the first day of the second unofficial test, held at Hagley Oval in Christchurch against New Zealand A, Kaisaval was once again ineffective.

His bat could not show activity in the third consecutive match, which increased the pressure on him before the upcoming test series. Constant questions arise regarding how exactly he loses his wickets.

After losing the toss, the India A team started the game very poorly. In the very first over, fast bowler Fraser Smith dismissed Yashwish Kaisaval via an out elbow-length ball (LBW). Kaisaval, who scored only 22 runs (17 and 5) in the previous two matches of the first unofficial test, either couldn't start or was dismissed for a minimal number of runs this time.

After Kaisaval came out to bat, Devadad Padhikkal tried to stabilize the innings along with Sai Sudarshan. Sudarshan looked in good form, but he fell into a trap by hitting the ball carelessly, which went outside the boundary, and was caught. Following this, Yash Rathore was also dismissed for attempting to interfere with the ball that was going outside.

Devadad Padhikkal, who demonstrated brilliant play in the first match, once again took responsibility and played a solid innings of 80 runs. Nevertheless, he could not turn this innings into a century because the ball hit his own pads while attempting a cut shot.

Immediately after this, Smaran Ravichandran made a mistake by deciding not to take the ball coming inside, and was dismissed on the very first delivery via LBW, scoring zero runs. Due to the batsmen's poor shot selection, the India A team lost its players at short intervals.

India A scored 291 runs in its first innings, losing 7 wickets in 88 overs. During this innings, Yashwish Kaisaval (0) and Smaran Ravichandran (0) could not score any runs, while Sai Sudarshan scored 41 runs, Devadad Padhikkal scored 80 runs, and Dhruv Jurel showed an impressive incomplete innings of 99 runs.

Additionally, Yash Rathore scored 13 runs, Washington Sundar scored 8 runs, Manav Sutar scored 22 runs, and Akash Dip remained on the field with 25 runs.
