Cape Town Taxi Industry Confirms Morning Service Availability for Monday

Cape Town passengers can breathe a slight sigh of relief before the start of the new work week, as the minivan taxi industry has confirmed that services will be available for the Monday morning rush hour, reports Cape Town Etc.

This assurance followed discussions held on Sunday, November 1st, between the Cape Town City Council and the leadership of the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO).

Rob Quintas, an advisor and member of the city's Majority Committee on Urban Mobility, stated that this meeting strengthened confidence that passengers can rely on minivan taxis for their journeys on Monday.

This confirmation is good news for thousands of residents who depend on taxis for commuting to work, school, and carrying out other daily responsibilities.

The city also announced that other forms of public transport will continue to operate. Meanwhile, the South African Police Service (SAPS), in collaboration with municipal and provincial security groups, will maintain a noticeable presence on various transport routes, taxi ranks, and stations.

Surveillance and security operations are expected to continue throughout the week as authorities monitor the situation.

The main message for passengers is that minivan taxi services are expected on Monday morning, and other public transport options will also be running.
