DGGI conducts raids in Delhi, confiscating 4.58 crore rupees due to billing fraud

The DGGI team uncovered a scheme to evade millions of rupees in taxes using fake GST invoices. As part of this operation, the team conducted a series of raids in Delhi over three days, achieving significant success.

During these activities, 45,860,000 rupees were seized. The DGGI team discovered an organized syndicate group and carried out searches at several premises associated with this syndicate.

The investigation revealed that this group was issuing fake GST invoices without actually purchasing or selling goods. These fraudulent invoices were used to provide a benefit in the form of input tax credit to various traders.

It was also found that funds were allegedly transferred to bank accounts through the RTGS system, after which these amounts were delivered to the traders. Thus, the network operated by masking transactions through the bank.

During the searches, in addition to cash, laptops, mobile phones, a large number of cheque books, and important documents related to various companies were seized.

DGGI is currently continuing the investigation into this entire network. The team is trying to establish who else participated in the syndicate and is also finding out which traders benefited from the fake ITC and how all financial operations occurred, from bank accounts to cash settlements.
