Visit Dubai allows applications for single and multiple-entry tourist visas

Tourists planning a trip to Dubai can now apply for single or multiple-entry tourist visas through the official city tourism website, Visit Dubai. This new initiative was announced on Sunday, November 1st.

This service integrates the tourist visa application process into the same platform that travelers use to explore attractions, book tickets, find events, and plan their vacation.

The Visit Dubai website already has a dedicated section with visa information, listing various categories of tourist visas, required documents, processing times, and fee amounts.

According to the website, the cost of a 30-day single-entry tourist visa starts from 200 dirhams, excluding VAT, and application processing usually takes about three business days.

The initiative was presented by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. It is part of two measures aimed at strengthening the emirate's tourism sector.

The second measure, presented simultaneously, is the Dubai Access Club, an invitation-only membership program that will provide regular visitors with exclusive benefits and experiences throughout the city.

New glass overhangs opened for visitors at The View on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai

Visitors to Dubai can now stand on glass overhangs that extend into the open air above the Palm. The View Palm Jumeirah has introduced a new adventure concept called The Ledge at The View, which allows guests to step beyond the observation deck and into the sky.

This new experience includes eight glass overhangs, each extending 1.5 meters beyond the viewing platform. Four of them face the branches and crescent of Palm Jumeirah, overlooking the Arabian Gulf, while the other four face the Dubai cityscape. Guests can observe the horizon or look straight down through the glass beneath their feet.

The view changes throughout the day: from bright blue skies to golden sunset light and a glittering cityscape after dark. These overhangs also provide visitors with the opportunity to take an impressive photograph.

The launch of this new area marks five years since The View Palm Jumeirah opened in 2021. During this time, the attraction has welcomed millions of guests from 130 countries.

When it opened, this attraction was positioned as the highest point of Palm Jumeirah, located at an altitude of 240 meters. It is situated at the top of the Palm Tower, which was designed by Nakheel and is connected to Nakheel Mall.

The Ledge at The View is now available for visits and is included in the price of the general ticket. Tickets can be purchased on the website www.theviewpalm.ae, starting from 115 dirhams for adults and 80 dirhams for children.

Emirates Skywards loyalty program offers miles for staying in Dubai

The Emirates Skywards loyalty program, belonging to the airlines Emirates and flydubai, has relaunched the 'Mile-A-Minute' promotion. This promotion allows participants to earn one Skywards mile for every minute spent in Dubai, with the possibility of earning up to 7,200 bonus miles.

This limited-time promotion coincides with the winter season of festivals, events, and outdoor activities in the city. It was previously introduced in 2021.

Bonus miles are credited in addition to those already accumulated from purchasing tickets on Emirates or flydubai that meet the conditions. The offer applies to all cabin classes and fare types.

The limit of 7,200 miles is equivalent to 120 hours or five days of stay in Dubai. Members staying longer can receive the maximum number of miles, while shorter trips or stops also allow earning miles for time spent in the city.

The promotion is available to Emirates Skywards members residing outside the UAE. To qualify, participants must:

  • Register before November 5, 2026, via the Emirates and flydubai websites and apps.
  • Book a qualifying return flight departing from outside the UAE between October 21 and November 5, 2026.
  • Arrive in Dubai between October 21 and December 13, 2026, staying for a minimum of 24 hours and no more than 30 days.

Bonus miles will be calculated based on the planned arrival and departure times from Dubai and will be automatically credited after the stay concludes. Passengers who are not yet members of the program can join Skywards for free and register before the booking deadline.

Ways to earn miles

Visitors can also accumulate miles through Skywards partners in the city. For example, miles are earned when staying at hotels such as Atlantis The Palm. Program members can earn or spend miles on selected tours, including desert safaris and excursions offered by Arabian Adventures. Additionally, miles are awarded for purchases made at Dubai Mall.

Everyday spending

With the Skywards Everyday app, members can link up to five payment cards and earn miles at hundreds of participating brands across the UAE, covering dining, shopping, wellness, and leisure sectors.

Accumulated Skywards miles can be used to pay for flights and upgrade services on Emirates and flydubai, as well as for hotel stays and participation in exclusive events through Skywards Exclusives. Participants can also use the Cash + Miles option to reduce the cost of a flight or for travel on the Skywards rail network in Europe.

Dubai's Museum of the Future opens recruitment for 'Future Perfects' role

The Museum of the Future in Dubai has announced a new hiring campaign that disregards traditional job requirements and experience. The museum is seeking a special type of talent, which they call 'Future Perfects'—individuals capable of embodying ideas related to science, technology, and society through human interaction and storytelling.

This initiative, the first of its kind globally, focuses on finding candidates who possess imagination, curiosity, emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, and adaptability, rather than relying on a standard list of qualifications or previous work experience.

Selected applicants will join the museum's visitor team, helping to shape the updated route and narrative for visits before the planned reopening in 2027. Applications are accepted until November 8, 2026.

The selection process includes live assessments and final interviews before an expert committee. It is designed to identify qualities that might be overlooked on a resume, such as how candidates listen, react to others, and handle unforeseen situations.

The 'Future Perfects' role combines the functions of a guide, storyteller, and conversationalist. These employees will welcome visitors from diverse cultures and social strata, explain complex concepts in accessible language, and encourage people to discuss issues of the future.

The museum is interested in natural communicators, attentive listeners, and confident problem-solvers who can connect with people of different ages and temperaments. Previous experience in customer service or museums is not mandatory, opening doors for candidates whose strengths may lie outside conventional career paths.

Successful candidates are expected to start full-time in November 2026, welcoming guests from around the world and contributing to an experience where interactions with ideas about science, technology, nature, and society feel personal and meaningful.

The museum's approach is based on the belief that while technology can expand the boundaries of what is possible, people play a critical role in helping others understand and experience these possibilities.

Azza Al Nuaimi, Chief Operating Officer of the Museum of the Future, noted that this initiative reflects Dubai's approach to identifying potential and creating conditions for realizing ideas. She stated: 'Dubai built its global standing by recognizing opportunities even before they became obvious and by creating the conditions for people, ideas, and ambitions to realize them.'

Al Nuaimi emphasized that the museum's vision goes beyond simply presenting the future; it also focuses on the people who will shape that future and how visitors can see themselves within it. She added that curiosity, imagination, and human connection will remain vital as technology advances. According to her: 'These qualities cannot be measured by a diploma, a position, or years of experience.'

In Al Nuaimi's view, the 'Future Perfects' initiative demonstrates Dubai's belief in recognizing potential beyond traditional career trajectories. She concluded: 'We are looking for people who may never have imagined working in a museum but possess exactly what the Museum of the Future needs.'
