The meteorological forecast for much of Brazil, covering the period from Saturday the 31st to Monday the 2nd, All Souls' Day, points to a combination of sun, heat, and scattered rain showers.
According to Climatempo, thunderstorms are expected in regions such as the South, Southeast, and Midwest during this long holiday weekend. The formation of these heavy clouds is favored by the movement of low-pressure areas and high humidity in the atmosphere, which could result in storms across the country.
Highlights of the forecast by region
In Rio Grande do Sul, periods of sun tend to be longer, although rain showers are expected mainly in the areas located in the north and east of the state. In Paraná and Santa Catarina, sun is expected in the morning, followed by rain showers with lightning on Sunday (1st). On Monday, rain may begin in the west-central part of Paraná and Santa Catarina, expanding to other parts of the states throughout the afternoon.
In the Southeast areas, there is a risk of heavy rain showers during all three days of the extended weekend. A low atmospheric pressure area off the coast of the Southeast will facilitate the formation of heavy clouds on Saturday (31st). However, on Sunday and Monday, after this low pressure moves away, sunny periods will be longer in the morning, but there is still a forecast for rain showers with lightning in the afternoon and evening. The beaches of the Southeast should have sun, especially on Sunday and Monday, without expectations of intense heat.
In Mato Grosso, Goiás, and the Federal District, the long weekend should feature several hours of strong sun. However, due to the predominant heat and humidity in the Midwest, combined with specific wind circulation conditions at high altitudes, heavy clouds should form, resulting in rain showers with lightning, especially in the afternoon and evening. Although the rain should not persist for long periods, it can fall with high intensity in various spots, accompanied by lightning and, occasionally, moderate to strong gusts of wind. The risk of morning rain is higher on November 2nd, affecting the capitals Brasília and Goiânia.
For the Northeast, the general forecast is for strong sun throughout the weekend. Some rain may occur inland, specifically in the western and southwestern regions of Bahia, Maranhão, and Piauí, while the probability of rain is low in other areas of the Northeast.
Amazonas, Acre, and Rondônia should spend the weekend with many clouds, alternating with periods of sun and rain showers that can happen at any time. There is a low probability of rain in Roraima, Amapá, and the far north of Pará. Tocantins and other locations in Pará will have several hours of strong sun, interspersed with isolated rain showers in the late afternoon and evening.
