InSpatio Opens Simulation-Based Robot Data Center in Hangzhou to Process Millions of Hours Monthly

InSpatio, a startup founded in 2025 by SenseTime and specializing in spatial intelligence models, opened what it calls the first simulation-based embodied AI data collection center in China in Hangzhou on October 29. This center is aimed at producing one million hours of data monthly, which equates to approximately 100,000 hours per day.

According to InSpatio, robots lack not only data volume but also diversity. For instance, a robot can reliably grasp an object on a fixed shelf, but its efficiency decreases if the shelf rotates, the target object is obscured by another row of drinks, or the robot has to reach from another side.

Data from the Chinese Academy of Information and Communications Technology indicates that over 70 robot training arenas were operational in China by the end of June, with plans for another 40. However, many of these focus on simple tasks such as folding clothes and cleaning tables. Any change in layout requires rebooking the venue and operators, leading to increased costs.

InSpatio's approach changes the calculation formula from 'people multiplied by hours' to 'environment configurations multiplied by parallel computing.' The system starts with a small number of demonstrations performed by real robots or via teleoperation, and then combines motion planning, policy runs, and automated physics checks to generate closed trajectories in hundreds of parallel environments. These trajectories are accompanied by synchronized RGB, depth, segmentation, 6D pose, and action labels.

Scene assets are sourced from two channels. One channel utilizes a partnership with Hesai's Kosmo 3D world engine, which reportedly can scan a 100 square meter room in about 15 minutes with millimeter-level 3DGS reconstruction. InSpatio then segments this static scan into individual objects with defined physical properties. The second channel uses InSpatio's proprietary world simulator, Topos Pro, which converts single images, multiple images, video, LiDAR data, or aerial photography into object-level scenes where the table, chair, and equipment properties, including collision properties, can be selected, replaced, and assigned.

Scene processing involves separating target objects into individual instances, filling in hidden geometry and restoring the background, as well as calibrating mass, center of mass, and friction for each task. The company also defines three levels of service: L1 for navigation, L2 for dexterous grasping with millimeter-level geometry and dense occlusion, and L3 for contact and articulated dynamics, such as opening drawers. It is claimed that the advantage of simulation increases at higher levels, although final policies are still verified on real robots.

Xiaomi unveils HachimoDock — a DIY desktop AI companion for voice task control

A team of innovators, overseen by the Xiaomi technology committee, has introduced HachimoDock—a small, desktop AI device that users can assemble and configure themselves. This was revealed after the device demonstration at the Guanqi Conference 2026 on October 26, according to sources IT Home and Sina Tech.

According to the team, the cost of components for self-assembly is approximately 150 yuan. The main goal of the project is to lower the barrier to entry into AI hardware and make HachimoDock the first device for those starting with 'vibe coding'—a method where the user describes what they want in simple language, and the AI generates the corresponding code.

HachimoDock combines a customizable desktop companion, voice control for computer agents, smart home management functions, and user-assembled components. When the user addresses the desktop companion, it translates the request into tasks and passes them to computer agents like Codex and WorkBuddy. These agents perform operations such as information retrieval, file organization, or code writing.

The device screen informs the user about the task execution status—thinking, running, or awaiting confirmation. Furthermore, the companion signals progress through facial expressions, movements, short prompts, and sounds. Operations requiring authorization still require confirmation via the relevant desktop client.

Voice control capabilities extend to the home environment through Xiaomi Miloco—the company's open-source AI framework for smart homes. The small display can transform into a home control panel, showing device status, lighting controls, and camera video feeds, allowing one desktop device to serve as an entry point for both PC agents and smart home devices.

Users can also instruct the AI to generate and launch new components on the spot. This allows HachimoDock to function as a microphone for voice input, a mini-console for gaming, an FM radio receiver, a secondary screen for monitoring AI task progress and computer status, or as a central hub for the smart home.

The source code is available on GitHub along with the hardware component specifications, structural part models, and assembly guides. However, there is an important limitation: the project is open-source, but not fully open in the common sense. The license permits personal, non-commercial reproduction, modification, and creation of components, but commercial use, integration, or development of separate products requires written permission from the copyright holders. Third-party components, including Xiaomi Miloco, retain their own licenses.

The team leader stated that they aim to provide a space for every user to define HachimoDock, so that more people can enjoy creating low-cost AI hardware.

Purple Mountain Laboratories and China Mobile Unveil Platform for Connecting AXP Agents

Purple Mountain Laboratories has launched the AXP platform, designed to facilitate communication between artificial intelligence (AI) agents, which operates based on deterministic networks. The presentation of this platform took place on October 16th at the Tenth Conference on Future Network Development in Nanjing. China Mobile, Jiangsu Future Network Group, and Jiangsu Future Networks Innovation Institute were involved in its development.

The developers position AXP as the industry's first agent connection platform built on deterministic network principles, although this claim has not yet been independently verified. A deterministic network implies the network's ability to guarantee bounded and predictable traffic delivery within a specific area, unlike the best-effort behavior of standard internet connections.

AXP applies this concept to a growing number of software agents that need to locate and invoke each other across various organizations and regions. According to an official announcement, the platform is capable of registering up to one million agents and simultaneously supporting 100,000 active agents.

The platform performs joint planning of computational and network resources, handles transformations between different protocols used by heterogeneous agents, detects failures, and switches within seconds. Furthermore, it enables semantic addressing, allowing an agent to be located by its functionality in approximately one hundred milliseconds.

Operating on CENI, China's national large-scale experimental site for future networks, the team reported that AXP successfully implemented high-precision agent addressing across different domains over distances exceeding 4,000 kilometers and reduced end-to-end task execution time by more than 20%, although the baseline for this comparison was not specified.

The presented materials did not specify which agent protocols AXP transforms. Information regarding support for widely used open standards such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) or Agent2Agent (A2A) was not disclosed, nor was an explanation provided for the acronym AXP.

Purple Mountain Laboratories stated that it has begun joint testing and industrial verification with telecommunications operators, communication equipment manufacturers, and a major steel enterprise across multiple scenarios. The date of commercial availability or pricing policy has not been announced.
