RTA extends metro operation in Dubai due to Dubai Ride event on November 1st

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has announced an extension of metro operating hours on November 1st specifically for participation in the Dubai Ride event. On this day, service will commence at 3:00 AM.

The authority also reminded passengers about the necessity of having a balance of 30 dirhams on their Nol card.

Dubai Ride is the starting flagship event of the tenth Dubai Fitness Challenge, which is scheduled from October 31st to November 29th. This challenge was launched in 2017 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, and encourages residents and visitors to engage in daily sports for 30 days, dedicating 30 minutes to it.

More than 16 million participants have been involved in the previous nine editions of the challenge.

The free public event offers two main routes. The Sheikh Zayed Road route, spanning 12 km, is recommended for more experienced cyclists. It passes by the Museum of the Future, the Dubai Water Canal, and the Burj Khalifa, with starting points including the Museum of the Future, Satwa, Coca-Cola Arena, Business Bay, and Downtown Dubai.

The fourth-kilometer Family Route in the city center is a flat, family-friendly loop around the Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera, and Burj Khalifa, making it suitable for young children and cyclists of all skill levels. It is important to note that Dubai Ride is not a timed competition, and participants are instructed to adhere to a speed limit of 25 km/h.
