Sanjay Gaikwad, a Member of Parliament from Seine-Saint-Denis, expressed regret for his remarks on Friday, made several days after he urged people not to attend the funerals of farmers who committed suicide. He strongly recommended that agricultural producers support their families and not abandon them.
It is reported that Eknat Shinde is displeased with Gaikwad's comments and has proposed suspending his party membership.
