Etihad Rail reported the sale of 120,000 tickets on its national passenger rail network within the first thirty days of its official start. The launch took place on September 30th and connected Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Dhaid, and Fujairah.
These figures, covering the period from September 30th to October 30th, demonstrate a growing trend among residents to choose the train as a preferred mode of transport between the emirates.
Adhraa Al Mansoori, Executive Director of Commercial and Support at Etihad Rail Mobility, stated that the company's goal is to make passenger railways an integral part of daily life and a reliable choice for comfortable, safe, and predictable journeys.
She noted that the strong response in the first month indicates passenger trust in the new mode of transport and reinforces the company's commitment to continuous service improvement. According to her, this contributes to realizing the UAE leadership's vision for transforming mobility across the country.
Etihad Rail offers various integrated transport solutions to stations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Dhaid, and Fujairah, collaborating with partners and transport service providers to facilitate passengers reaching their final destinations.
At the Al Yalais station in Dubai, a special pedestrian bridge has been installed that directly connects it to the Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station, providing access to routes along the Red Line. In Abu Dhabi, direct shuttle buses connect the Mohamed bin Zayed City Station to key locations such as the ADNOC headquarters on Corniche, ADNEC center, Reem Mall, as well as hotels and attractions on Yas Island. Additional options are available through service providers at stations across the network, including Al Dhaid and Fujairah.
In the initial phase of operations, stations in Abu Dhabi and Fujairah opened on June 30th. The official launch of the UAE's national passenger rail network, which unites all four cities into a single system, occurred on September 30th with the opening of stations in Dubai Al Yalais and Al Dhaid in Sharjah.
It is planned that stations in Liwa, Madinat Zayed, and the Al Dhafra region will open in the coming months. The last station of the first phase of the rail network—the station in Sharjah, located near the University City—is expected to begin operations in early 2027.
