Uber has introduced the Fixed Price feature for the Uber Moto service in Brazil. Previously, trip values were determined by variables such as distance traveled and vehicle availability.
This new mode costs R$ 4.98 and is already available in 38 Brazilian cities. However, there is one main condition: the Fixed Price applies only to Uber Moto routes with a distance of up to 3 km. For distances exceeding this limit, the charge will follow the traditional variable pricing system.
A relevant aspect of this novelty is that it is applied automatically. Users do not need to choose this option or apply any coupon; as soon as the Uber Moto trip reaches the maximum distance of 3 km, the single fee of R$ 4.98 will be charged.
According to Uber, the goal of this implementation is to offer greater predictability to customers who frequently use short-distance transport services. The company states that knowing the cost of a trip in advance significantly aids people's financial planning.
With this Single Price, Uber seeks to provide a simple, transparent, and economical alternative for short commutes, ensuring they are accessible. Iolanda Franco, Uber's Operations Director in Brazil, reinforced that this solution aims to make short-distance trips more affordable.
In communication with Tecnoblog, Uber listed the cities that have already adopted the novelty, indicating that there will be a progressive expansion plan for other locations in the country. It was noted that specifically regarding São Paulo, coverage is limited to the metropolitan region, as the Uber Moto modality remains suspended in the city of São Paulo.
