Mother whose family faced problems after husband's disappearance appeals to district administrator over land

A commotion arose in the office of the district administrator in Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh when a woman came with a complaint, collapsing to the ground. The woman stated that her husband had been missing for about a year. Meanwhile, her son-in-law and brother-in-law had seized land belonging to her husband. Despite repeated appeals to officials, she had not received justice. Ultimately, she went to the collegiate court, collapsing, and told the district administrator about her problem.

The woman's visit to the collegiate court is being discussed throughout the district. She appealed to the DM to provide housing and the land belonging to her husband to support her children. Staff present at the collegiate court premises calmed the woman down and presented her to the district administrator. After this, the woman recounted her plight and asked for justice.

The distressed woman was identified as Devarti, wife of Kailash Chandra, residing in the village of Haredegi Lodhan in Maudha area. Devarti reported that after her husband developed mental illness, she began living with her children in their ancestral home in the village of Pautiya. According to the woman, her husband disappeared without a trace about a year ago. She actively searched for him but could not find him. After her husband's disappearance, the entire responsibility for the family fell on her.

Devarti claims that her son-in-law and brother-in-law seized land that belonged to her husband. The woman notes that due to the seizure of the land, she has faced problems with accommodation and providing for her family's expenses. She wishes to receive a house in the village and her husband's land so that she can live with her children and support herself.

Regarding the seizure of approximately six bighas of land belonging to her husband, Devarti repeatedly approached the SDM of Maudha and the local police officer of Muskara. However, she has still not managed to achieve justice. Faced with constant difficulties, she went to the district administrator's office. The woman stated that she has a daughter, Gudiya, aged 20, and a son, Akash, aged 18. The responsibility for supporting both children rests on her. It is difficult for her to support the family amid her husband's disappearance and the land dispute. Devarti pleaded with the DM to provide her with village housing and her husband's land so that she could support her children and have a place to live.

After listening to the problems of the woman who came to the collegiate court, collapsing to the ground, District Administrator Ashok Kumar issued directives for the case to be reviewed. The DM instructed the SDM of Maudha, Karnavir Singh, to personally visit the site to resolve the issue and ensure justice for the woman. The administration must now take further action regarding Devarti's complaint. Devarti accuses her son-in-law and brother-in-law of seizing six bighas of land belonging to her husband after his disappearance. She demands that her husband's land and housing be provided to her so that she can fulfill her responsibilities towards her children.

The photograph of the woman who came to the DM's office and her manner of demanding justice are causing discussion in the district. The woman states that she had previously filed complaints with the authorities, but her problem was not resolved. Now, thanks to the directive from the district administrator, she hopes that her complaint will be considered and that she will receive justice for her family.
